What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs — In cash, I would recommend playing Nathan MacKinnon, but I will likely be underweight in GPPs. Seattle is bad, but they are also low-event, and they do a good job staying out of the box for the most part. While they have had a hard time killing penalties this season, I do not put much weight into that because that part of the game is so noisy and hard to predict. On top of all that, MacKinnon is hard to stack with tonight. They changed power-play units last game and are sticking with them tonight, so Artturi Lehkonen is no longer power-play correlated, and even Martin Necas was seemingly in more of a timeshare role on the power play last game, playing only 57.6% of the available minutes compared to 78.4% for MacKinnon.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments — I plan to spread my exposure around to Colorado, Toronto, Columbus, and the Rangers, as they all draw great matchups on a night when ownership should be spread out. I won’t be afraid to pay up for a goalie, as there aren’t many cheap options worth the risk for me outside of Filip Gustavsson.
Joda: Single-entry tournaments are my preferred format tonight. Zach Werenski is my first guy in, and he has some good stack partners at reasonable prices, which leads me to a more mid-tier build centered around Columbus. Boston and both sides of the CGY/SJS game are some other options that interest me. I also like the idea of correlating my goalie with my stack.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
