NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, January 27

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Auston Matthews
boggslite: Kirill Kaprizov
Joda: Kirill Kaprizov

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Moneyball16: Large-field tournaments – There is a lack of good line stacks that have power-play correlation, so it might be best to get a little creative with your stacking. I’ll be looking for some 2-2-2 lineups and other creative lineups. Also, the few fully correlated lines, like TOR2, BOS1, and SEA1, become higher value for me as lines with strong correlation that shouldn’t carry much ownership.

boggslite: Large-field tournaments – I am going to build around Minnesota and San Jose, tapping into their upside based on the matchups. There isn’t a lot of great value, so I won’t force a full line stack as my secondary options. Instead, I will likely use mini stacks to complete my builds.

Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. My favorite teams to target are Minnesota and San Jose. Macklin Celebrini is a superstar who grew up in Vancouver. The Canucks have some interesting pieces as well given their price tags, as San Jose sports a league-worst xGA/60 at 5-on-5 over their last 10 games. Guys like Elias Pettersson and Jake DeBrusk are around $5,000, and their roles on the top power-play unit should be secure. We could see other guys – at bottom-of-the-barrel pricing – rotate in, so keep an eye on our RotoGrinders Discord and NHL DFS projections for all of the latest updates.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
