NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, March 10
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: Tage Thompson
boggslite: Tage Thompson
Joda: Nathan MacKinnon
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – I think it will be natural to try to play an uncorrelated stars-and-scrubs lineup tonight, and I think some of the fully correlated on-the-power-play lines outside of Colorado and Montreal will go undervalued. I will likely try to lean more in the direction of those many options, hoping for some correlated 3-point bonuses, rather than try to Frankenstein together some lineups. While a great cash game must-play, like Tage Thompson, who doesn’t correlate particularly well with any of his teammates, will likely come very underowned in GPPs for me.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – With so much talent to choose from on tonight’s loaded slate, I plan to spread my exposure around rather than load up on one particular player or line combo. There isn’t a ton of great value, but I will still go with a stars-and-scrubs approach to my builds, focusing on lines that generate a majority of their team’s scoring. Colorado, Winnipeg, and Montreal’s top lines fit that mold for me, but I also like the upside from Minnesota, Tampa, and Carolina.
Joda: Large-field GPPs – We have a lot of value on defense in Tampa Bay with Darren Raddysh and Erik Cernak out. Defensemen against Columbus usually bring strong fantasy production. Victor Hedman is the standout for his PP1 role, but there are others who could be productive too, and they come cheaper and at a pOWN% discount. Colorado is my favorite team on the slate as the Oilers continue to struggle. Montreal’s top line has been magnificent, and they get to take on a Toronto team that has nothing left in the tank.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
