NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, October 22

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Mikhail Sergachev
boggslite: Auston Matthews
Joda: Auston Matthews

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – Tonight is a unique night. Normally, we have most of the games starting when the slate starts, but tonight, every team plays, and no 2 games start at the same time. So, it will be as crucial as ever to be in our Discord and on Twitter paying attention to news throughout the slate and allowing yourself to be flexible with your lineups.

boggslite: I’m playing large-field tournaments where ownership should be spread out, with many options to target at different price points. With so much variance this early in the season, I’ll spread out my exposure to stacks, hoping for a big game from one or more of them. I’ll also have a narrow field of goalies, focusing on Igor Shesterkin and Connor Hellebuyck.

Joda: Large-field GPPs – The NHL’s “Frozen Frenzy” staggers start times for all 32 NHL teams. Because of this, we are unlikely to get all the information we need until warmups. While some will set their lineup and forget it, with 13 games on the docket, there is likely to be a diamond in the rough that appears while paying attention to line rushes. There are a handful of players whose status is unknown at the time of writing this, so building smart lineups with some different swaps in mind could be beneficial.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
