What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: Single-entry and smaller-field GPPs are my preferred format. I am going to be very high on the Golden Knights despite their recent struggles. They have the highest implied team total on the slate, and I don’t think they will be as popular as the Maple Leafs. Speaking of Toronto, I do like them just fine for cash games or small-field contests, but for large-field contests, I don’t mind fading them completely and correlating Juuse Saros with a few of the skaters from Nashville.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred tournament format. Toronto players will likely dominate roster construction given Nashville’s struggles and the landscape of the slate, but there are plenty of ways to differentiate. The real wild card is Vegas, who hasn’t scored a single goal over their last 2 games, including a fantasy goose egg from Jack Eichel last night. However, Anaheim has the worst xGA/60 in the league at 5v5, and I’m inclined to include at least one Vegas piece in my lineup.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
