NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, January 22
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Moneyball16: Erik Karlsson – I still believe the star-studded Penguins PP1 will start scoring goals, and Karlsson should take advantage. The Penguins power play has only scored 17 goals, but they have 27.74 expected power-play goals. Facing a team that historically has taken a lot of penalties, hopefully, this is the night for some positive regression.
ezellmt: Sam Reinhart – I think some of the value pieces will get ownership for Florida, but most will opt to avoid Reinhart due to his price tag. The price is warranted as Reinhart has a 9-game point streak where he has 13 points in all. He should thrive in an up-tempo game against Nashville.
Joda: Nico Hischier – A popular play in the right matchup, I do not expect any ownership tonight in a less than ideal matchup. Ownership will concentrate on Colin Miller and a cheap center, leaving someone like Hischier unowned. If New Jersey pulls off the win at home, Hischier stands a good chance of recording a multi-point effort.
