NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 21
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
TastefulTides: Brady Tkachuk – Ownership is likely going to be heaviest on the Lightning and Canucks, with some additional ownership maybe coming from Edmonton and Florida. That would mean the Senators are going to go under-owned. Tkachuk has averaged 7 shots per game over his last 4 games. His ownership should be low enough that I think you can use him as one-off.
ezellmt: Jake Guentzel – After starting on the second line and power play, Guentzel is now on the top line and power play and could see 18-20 minutes if the game stays competitive. He has 3 straight multi-point games and 11 SOG during that span. The matchup against the Flyers is about average, but the implied team total of 3.8 goals shows how much respect the oddsmakers have for this Hurricanes offense right now.
boggslite: Brady Tkachuk – It will be interesting to see Tkachuk’s ownership, as he is expensive and plays for an inconsistent Ottawa team that has disappointed this season. He’s still generating plenty of offense, however, and draws a solid matchup at home against a similarly inconsistent Blues team that owns the worst xGA/60 among teams on tonight’s slate over their past 10 games.
