NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 16
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: Dylan Larkin
ezellmt: Dylan Larkin
Joda: Jack Eichel
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Moneyball16: John Carlson – I am going back to Carlson as my contrarian play. He only got 5% ownership last night, but with the injuries, he played almost 30 minutes in a regulation game and played all of the power-play time. If the Caps win tonight, they are in the playoffs. If they lose in regulation, they are out. They have all the motivation in the world to play their workhorse huge minutes again, giving Carlson a very high floor of shots and blocks, and he has power-play scoring upside.
ezellmt: Tomas Hertl – Hertl has only played 4 games for his new team but appears to be finding his footing lately. He has goals in back-to-back games, and hit the 5+ SOG bonus in his last game, his first as a Golden Knight. He’s on the 2nd line at even strength, but more importantly, is on the 1st power play with Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault. The matchup is the biggest draw here, as a visit from the Blackhawks is about as good as it gets.
Joda: John Carlson – DFS players are less inclined to pay up for defensemen, but Carlson is going to be relied upon heavily tonight. Philadelphia takes a lot of shot attempts, and because they need a regulation win, they will have to take risks, including an earlier-than-usual goalie pull if trailing. Carlson has goals in consecutive games, and you can count on him being out there no matter the situation.
