NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope More/Less Than 20 Fantasy Points

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is never the most exciting fantasy commodity, but he has settled into a steady role since his arrival in Denver a couple of years ago. The 2-time NBA champ is averaging just north of 10 points per game on efficient 39.6% shooting from beyond the 3-point line.

The Nuggets will play host to a shorthanded version of the Raptors tonight. Toronto has been atrocious in terms of defending opposing 3-point shooters. The Raps are yielding 13.5 made 3-pointers per game, the 5th-highest average in the league. Caldwell-Pope doesn’t get a lot of volume in a crowded Denver offense, but he should be able to contribute some damage here against what has been one of the NBA’s worst defenses over the past couple of months.

Davis Bertans More/Less Than 11.5 Points

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Davis Bertans? What a time to be alive! For better or worse, Bertans has been thrust into a real role for the Hornets of late amid a rash of injuries.

The Latvian sensation has logged at least 20 minutes off the bench in each of Charlotte’s last 5 games. The Wizards gave him an $80 million deal a few years ago because of his shooting prowess, and he’s been happy to let it fly since joining the Hornets’ rotation a few games ago.

He hasn’t been all that efficient – shooting 40% from the field in the last 5 games – but the usage and minutes are there. Bertans has hoisted at least 11 shots in 4 of those 5 games, and tonight the Hornets draw an exploitable matchup against the lowly Pistons.

Jarrett Allen More/Less Than 41.5 Fantasy Points

Speaking of injuries, the Cavaliers are dealing with plenty. Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Max Strus, and Dean Wade will all be out of the lineup again tonight when the Cavaliers play host to the Suns.

Jarrett Allen has been one of the lone constants for a surprising Cleveland bunch all year long. The big man is averaging 16.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and nearly 2 combined blocks/steals on the season. Allen has also had to play hefty minutes of late with the Cavs so thin in the frontcourt. Since the calendar flipped to March, Allen has averaged 36.3 minutes per game, including a 41-minute effort in regulation (46 including OT) just 2 games ago.

Tonight’s matchup has a tight 6.5-point spread, which is a bit of a surprise given the state of the Cavs’ roster and the fact that they’re on the latter half of a back-to-back. Assuming we see a full complement of minutes for Allen, our pick’em tool likes the value on him to total more than 41.5 fantasy points.
