NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Jalen Green More/Less Than 28.5 Fantasy Points

Jalen Green certainly hasn’t lived up to expectations since the Rockets drafted him 2nd overall a few years ago, but he’s still just 22 years old. Green was thrust into a no-win situation as a part of the woeful Rockets teams of the past couple of years, but his lack of development this season is a bit of a head scratcher.

Despite the overall team’s improvement this year, Green is still a bit stuck in the mud. He’s still averaging a respectable 17.9 points per game, though his shooting percentages (40.4% FGs, 31.2% 3P) leave plenty to be desired. Tonight, Green and the Rockets will face the Suns in Phoenix for the 2nd time in the last 3 nights.

Ime Udoka hasn’t had qualms about benching Green if he doesn’t play well, but he has a longer leash if he can get it going offensively. We saw Jalen log 39 minutes in the last game in which he led an otherwise struggling Houston offense with 34 points. I’m a bit skeptical of his chances to post back-to-back strong offensive games against the same opponent, but our pick’em tool does like Green’s chances of topping 28.5 fantasy points in this one.

Kevin Durant More/Less Than 43.5 Fantasy Points

The Suns will get a boost tonight with Bradley Beal expected to return from his hamstring injury. That’ll naturally take a bit of usage away from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, though we can still expect Frank Vogel to ride his stars quite heavily. KD is among the league leaders in minutes per game this season (37.2), and he logged 40 minutes in this very matchup against Houston 2 nights ago.

Durant is still among the game’s premier scorers, averaging 27.9 points per game. His ancillary contributions may be a bit underrated, though. He’s averaging nearly 6 assists and 7 rebounds per game alongside over 2 combined blocks/steals. This assist average is among the highest of Durant’s illustrious career.

43.5 fantasy points is a low expectation for KD in this spot. Houston is a much-improved defense this season, but I’ll bank on Durant’s big-minute role here.

Jerami Grant More/Less Than 21.5 Points

This is shaping up to be a lost season for the Blazers, which isn’t a huge surprise given their off-season Damian Lillard trade. Portland’s rebuilding effort is well underway, though it was a bit surprising to see Jerami Grant stick around through the deadline. Grant certainly garnered some interest from contenders, but perhaps the Blazers’ asking price was too high.

Regardless, the veteran is still playing a key role for Chauncey Billups’ side. Grant is averaging 21.4 points per game on the year, marking the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons in which he’s contributed at least 20 a night. What’s extra impressive is his efficiency, particularly from 3-point range (40.4%).

Tonight, the Blazers will face off against the Grizzlies in Memphis for the 2nd straight night. Grant scuffled considerably last night, finishing with just 10 points on a middling 4-for-10 shooting from the floor in a blowout win for Portland. Tonight’s rematch features a tight 2-point spread, so I’m optimistic Grant will see a full allotment of minutes. He’s typically playing around 40 in competitive games, and 40ish minutes of Grant should be enough to help him get past 21.5 real points against an undermanned and underwhelming version of the Grizzlies.
