NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Myles Turner More/Less Than 32.5 Fantasy Points

I mentioned back on Monday that Myles Turner has appeared in this article more than any other player this season, so why not run it back yet again tonight? He didn’t come through for us a couple of days ago, but today is a new day.

The Pacers draw one of the better matchups on the board on the road in Detroit against an underwhelming and undermanned version of the Pistons. Indy’s 122.5 implied team total is among the highest on the slate, and with good reason. Detroit is allowing its foes to shoot better than 37% from 3-point range on the season, which is ideal for a guy like Turner, who likes to do his damage from beyond the long line.

Turner isn’t the best rebounding center – averaging 7 caroms per game on the year – but Detroit will be a bit shorter up front with Isaiah Stewart out for this game. Turner’s thrived in this matchup before, as he’s averaging 19.7 points, 8 rebounds, and nearly 2 blocks per game across 3 previous meetings with the Pistons on the year.

Ochai Agbaji More/Less Than 10.5 Points

Ochai Agbaji was a lottery pick 2 years ago, but he’s taken time to develop. The Kansas product was shipped from Utah to Toronto before the trade deadline, and he’s quickly been thrust into a bigger role with his new team. Agbaji is averaging nearly 25 minutes per game so far this month, and he’s started in 8 of his 16 appearances with the Raptors thus far.

Agbaji isn’t much of a scorer. He’s averaging 6.6 points per game in his career, and he’s at 5.9 through those 16 games with Toronto. There will be some usage to go around for the Raps tonight with all of Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, and Jakob Poeltl missing from the lineup, but Agbaji isn’t particularly likely to pick up the slack offensively. He’s only sporting a usage rate of about 16.5% with his new team.

Even if he does get a few extra looks, he’s not all that likely to hit them. Agbaji is shooting only 33% from the field in March, including 16.7% from 3-point range. 10.5 points sounds like a lofty expectation for him tonight against Sacramento.

Kevin Durant More/Less Than 24.5 Points

The Suns still haven’t quite hit their stride despite entering the season among the favorites to win the NBA title. Phoenix would be in the play-in tourney if the season ended today, though they’re only a half-game back of the Kings for the No. 6 spot. Regardless, I doubt anybody will regard the Suns as a real threat to the Nuggets’ throne once the playoffs come around.

Tonight, the Suns will look to make up some ground in the standings with a winnable game at home against the injury-plagued Sixers. Philly was one of the league’s better defenses early in the season, but they’ve predictably fallen off a cliff on that end of the floor since Joel Embiid went down. Since Embiid’s injury, the 76ers are just 23rd in the league in defensive rating.

Even with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal in the fold, Kevin Durant is still among the league’s most dominant scorers. KD is averaging a ho-hum 28 points per game on the year while shooting better than 52% from the field and 41% from downtown. Something tells me he won’t have a hard time in this spot against a team struggling to keep points off the board.
