NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Isaiah Stewart More Than 8.5 Rebounds + Assists

It’s a rough time to be a Pistons fan. Detroit enters Wednesday’s game against Philadelphia on a 20-game losing streak, and it’s certainly not a stretch to assume they’ll extend it to 21 tonight. Remember when the Pistons were 2-1 this season? Me neither. They’re now 2-21, and they’re 12-point underdogs at home in this one.

Things are grim, but there are a few bright spots. With Jalen Duren and Marvin Bagley both out injured, we’re likely to see Isaiah Stewart draw another start at the 5. He struggled in the same role the other night, and things may not get any easier for him here with Joel Embiid lurking on the other side of the matchup. That said, Beef Stew did log 34 minutes in the last game.

Will the Pistons get obliterated so badly tonight that Stewart and the rest of the starters won’t play full minutes? It’s possible, but he does project pretty well in 33 minutes this evening. Stewart is averaging north of 7 rebounds on the season. In 9 games without Duren, Stewart is averaging 7.6 rebounds and a couple of assists. There’s a clear path for him to top 8.5 combined boards and assists in this one.

Brook Lopez More Than 2.5 Blocks

We’ll sometimes talk about how poor of a rebounder Brook Lopez is for a 7-footer, but it’s also fair to say he’s one of the game’s more underrated defenders. The Bucks defense as a whole has taken a step back this season under first-year head coach Adrian Griffin, but Lopez isn’t to blame for the team’s shortcomings on that end. The 35-year-old has been better than ever, blocking a career-best 2.8 shots per game through his first 23 games of the campaign.

Tonight, the Bucks and Pacers will square off for the third time this season and the second time in less than a week. This clash has an over/under of 259.5 points, which has to be the highest in NBA history. Neither team is playing much defense, and these are two of the best offenses in the league. Both teams also prefer to push the tempo. There will be tons of possessions, which should give Lopez more than enough chances to rack up some rejections.

BroLo blocked 4 shots when he faced the Pacers last week in Vegas. He swatted 3 away in the first meeting between the two teams. Considering he’s averaging nearly 3 blocks per game on the season, you’re getting good value here.

Buddy Hield More Than 2.5 Threes

Points will be scored in the IND/MIL game tonight, so let’s stay in the same game. Buddy Hield started the season as a reserve for Indiana, but he moved into the starting unit around Thanksgiving. After averaging about 25 minutes per game in November, he’s playing nearly 30 minutes a night so far this month. He’s actually topped 30 in each of the last 4 games.

As we know, Buddy Buckets is out there to fire away. He’s been a dead-eye shooter over the course of his career, and he’s up to his usual tricks this season. Buddy’s knocked down a shade under 40% of his triple tries on over 7 attempts per game.

For whatever reason, his shooting touch has abandoned him in his two previous meetings with Milwaukee this season. Hield has converted just 2 of his 17 attempts from beyond the long line, including an 0-for-6 showing just last week. The volume is clearly there though, and I’m more than happy to bank on Buddy’s talent in the best projected game environment on the board.
