NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander More Than 0.5 Blocked Shots
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the NBA’s bright young stars on both ends of the floor. He has elite length relative to your run-of-the-mill point guard, and he’s happy to use it to his advantage. SGA is averaging nearly 3 steals per game on the season, while he’s also blocking an average of 0.8 shots. That blocked shots average is tied for the 3rd best in the league among all guards behind only Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.
Tonight’s opponent, the Grizzlies, also happen to allow the most blocks in the league per game this season. The Grizz are getting an average of 6.9 shots rejected every single night, which is easily the highest mark in the NBA. Desmond Bane is great, but his short arms don’t help him in this regard.
All SGA needs to do tonight is block 1 shot, and you’ll be rolling in the dough. Easy money, right?
- Play: Gilgeous-Alexander – More Than 0.5 Blocks
Bojan Bogdanovic More Than 25.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
The Pistons have lost approximately 700 games in a row heading into tonight’s clash with the Hawks in Atlanta. Atlanta is a very vulnerable defensive team, however, so there’s actually a chance Detroit finally gets back into the win column here. Regardless, points should be scored. The Pistons and Hawks rank 26th and 27th, respectively, in defensive rating. The 247 total is among the highest on tonight’s slate.
Detroit hasn’t won a game since Bojan Bogdanovic returned from injury, but he’s not to blame for their overall struggles. He’s actually played quite well, ranking 2nd on the squad in usage (26.6%) alongside a tidy 1.01 FP/minute average. Bogdanovic is averaging better than 20 real-life points per game on lights-out 40% shooting from long distance.
Thanks to the elite matchup, Bogdanovic is fully capable of topping 25.5 PRA tonight on points alone. He’s not a big source of ancillary stats (2.6 assists, 2.3 rebounds per game), but Bogdanovic should be able to score enough to get there.
- Play: Bogdanovic – More Than 25.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
James Harden More Than 21.5 Points + Rebounds
The Clippers will make a rare foray outside of California to take on the Pacers tonight in Indianapolis. The Pacers have been the Coors Field of NBA matchups all season, as they’re 1st in the league in pace, 3rd in offensive efficiency, and 28th in defense. The Clippers’ 125.5 implied team total is one of the highest on the board.
The days of James Harden as one of the highest-usage players in the sport are in the rearview mirror, but he’s still heavily involved in LA’s offense. His 19.6% usage on the season is his lowest since his rookie year, yet he’s still awfully efficient. Harden’s averaging better than 16 points per game as a Clipper despite taking just over 10 field goal attempts per game. The Beard has also improved his scoring output of late as he’s acclimated to his new teammates, averaging 18 points per game so far in December.
Harden isn’t an elite rebounding guard anymore, but he is still contributing about 5 boards per game. Given the expected pace of this one, Harden should be able to surpass 21.5 combined points and rebounds fairly easily.
- Play: Harden – More Than 21.5 Points + Rebounds
