NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today
Brandon Miller More Than 19.5 Points + Rebounds
Brandon Miller hasn’t been all that consistent this season for the Hornets, but that’s typically true of first-year players. The Alabama product has been thrust into a major role with LaMelo Ball sidelined, however, as he’s routinely logging mid-30s minutes as a starter. Gordon Hayward and Miles Bridges will be back in Charlotte’s lineup tonight against Indiana, but Miller should still play a prominent role.
This Hornets-Pacers clash has the highest total on the board (247.5), and we’ve been picking on both defenses all year. Both teams play at fast paces, and neither team is stopping anybody. We have Miller projected to play 35 minutes in this spot. Even if he’s not a huge source of usage (20.5%), the expected game environment here does suit him well.
Miller doesn’t have to completely go off in order to top 19.5 combined points and rebounds, either. Indiana is also 26th in team rebound rate, so Miller could rack up a few extra boards, too.
- Play: Miller – More Than 19.5 Points + Rebounds
Rudy Gobert More Than 12.5 Points + Assists
Tonight’s Wolves-76ers game isn’t the best fantasy environment, but this is the most intriguing real-life basketball game on the schedule. Minnesota is off to a very impressive 20-5 start, while Philly is 18-8. This game has a tight spread (PHI -3.5), and we know Joel Embiid will play heavy minutes for the home team.
Embiid’s presence should mean we see plenty of Rudy Gobert patrolling the paint for Minnesota. The Wolves have found a way to make the Gobert/Towns tandem work this season, as they’re now leading the NBA in defensive rating by a hefty margin. Foul trouble is certainly a concern, considering Embiid is a magnet for fouls, but we have Rudy at 33 minutes if he can keep his hands to himself.
Gobert doesn’t have the ball in his hands much at all on this team, but he’s efficient with the few chances he gets. He’s averaging nearly 13 real points per game on the year on tidy 61% shooting from the field. He’s admittedly not a major distributor, as evidenced by his 1.2 assists per game this season. Still, we’re relying on the scoring to get us there tonight.
- Play: Gobert – More Than 12.5 Points + Assists
DeMar DeRozan More Than 27.5 Points + Assists
The Bulls will host the Lakers tonight in a game with a 4-point spread. Chicago is still playing without Zach LaVine, which means DeMar DeRozan, Coby White, and Nikola Vucevic will all play bigger offensive roles. White’s play has been incredibly impressive, but it’s DeRozan still leading the Bulls in both usage (28%) and assist rate (26.5%) with LaVine off the floor.
DeRozan has endured some rough shooting games of late, and the matchup with the Lakers isn’t great on paper. It’s hard to ignore the minutes, though. DeRozan has topped 40 minutes in 3 of the last 5 games. He hasn’t logged fewer than 37 in a game since the end of November.
DeRozan is still a terrific scorer (22.2 points per game), and the bump in assist rate is significant enough for this to look like a great value target tonight.
- Play: DeRozan – More Than 27.5 Points + Assists
