NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Jarrett Allen – More/Less Than 11.5 Rebounds

The Cavs have played good basketball of late despite the absence of 2 key starters – Evan Mobley and Darius Garland. Both will remain sidelined tonight when the Cavs take on the Bucks for the 2nd time in the last 3 nights. This will be the 3rd meeting between the Central Division rivals since January 17th, as well.

Jarrett Allen has upped his game since Mobley went down. The big man will likely get shut out of an All-Star nod thanks to a deep Eastern Conference frontcourt, but he’s quietly playing the best basketball of his pro career these days. Allen is contributing about 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists per game on the year. So far in January, he’s been even more productive, however, averaging a healthy 16.6 points alongside 13.1 boards per game.

Allen has posted games of 13 and 12 rebounds, respectively, in the 2 recent meetings with Milwaukee. He actually hasn’t grabbed fewer than 11 caroms in a single game all month despite only logging around 31 minutes per appearance. He should feast on the boards again tonight against a Bucks team ranked a middling 13th in the league in rebound rate.

Gary Trent – More/Less Than 12.5 Points

Gary Trent is hardly a household name, but he’s turned himself into a solid pro over the past few years between Portland and Toronto. The Raptors will be shorthanded tonight with the Clippers in town, as Immanuel Quickley has already been ruled out because of a sore thigh. Toronto simply doesn’t have much other depth at point guard. We have Trent and Bruce Brown projected to start together in the backcourt, while Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett figure to soak up some ball-handling duty.

Trent isn’t really out there to facilitate, though. He’s made his money in this league as a lethal spot-up shooter, particularly from 3-point range. He’s averaged north of 17 real points per game in his previous two seasons with the Raps, but he’s down to just 11.5 points per game this year in a diminished role. This is despite the fact that Trent is connecting on a career-best 41.7% of his attempts from beyond the long line.

Tonight, the role should be there. We have Trent projected to log 32 minutes, and there’s more usage to go around for this team without Quickely and the recently-departed Pascal Siakam. The matchup against the Clippers isn’t an easy one, but it won’t take a huge outing for Trent to score at least 13 points, either.

  • PLAY: MORE Than 12.5 Points

Myles Turner – More/Less Than 30.5 Fantasy Points

The Pacers put a surprising wallop on the Sixers last night, and they’ll be in action again this evening. Indiana’s basketball squadron will remain at home to host a Suns team playing its best basketball of the season.

The Pacers will again be without Tyrese Haliburton, which will open up some usage for the rest of the team’s regulars. Myles Turner isn’t ever a huge source of usage, and he gets a minimal boost (0.2%) so far this year with Hali on the bench.

Turner’s production really hasn’t skipped a beat since Pascal Siakam arrived, either. If anything, Siakam’s presence means defenses can’t focus all of their attention on trying to stop Turner. Phoenix isn’t the most imposing interior defense with Jusuf Nurkic patrolling the paint, and we’ve seen Turner flash a nice ceiling even while being limited to around 30 minutes per game on the season.
