Hello Grinders. I’ll be covering for Justin today so you’ll be getting a full weekend of me (I’m sorry in advance). We have a 10-game main slate so that’s where the bulk of my energy/analysis will go towards, but let’s briefly touch on the four-game early slate for those of you playing it:

EARLY SLATE

Question 1: What Do We Do At Pitching?

We don’t have a lot of good options to choose from, and I’m immediately crossing off several arms. Andrew Kittredge is scheduled to open with Jalen Beeks expected to be the long man per this tweet. Kittredge is a no-go for me as the opener, while Beeks isn’t someone I really want to roll the dice with given his pitch count has been all over the place lately. In his last seven appearances, Beek’s pitch counts have gone from 58 > 50 > 69 > 50 > 48 > 44 > 78. There’s too much risk for me to take a chance on a starter who may only see three to four innings here.
