Rams vs. 49ers Same Game Parlay Picks and Props

It’s time to head back into the Upside Down, aka ‘Undie Night Football,’ aka Monday Night Football. Tonight’s west-coast battle pits the LA Rams against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. At 7-2, LA is a legitimate Super Bowl contender with veteran and first-year Ram Matthew Stafford under center—but we will see how things go with brand-new wideout Odell Beckham (signed after clearing waivers last week) replacing steady receiver Robert Woods out (torn ACL). On the other side, San Fran must be relieved to have QB Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle back to full health—the Niners have lost five of their last six games and lay in danger of missing the playoffs in a crowded NFC. With the Rams currently favored at -3.5, this feels like a tough game to analyze on a standard spread scale, but it’s a great opportunity to put together some Rams-49ers props and form a Same Game Parlay on PointsBet.

A Same Game Parlay basically just means a parlay consisting of multiple correlated wagers from one specific game. It provides bettors with good options to bet a game—and piece together props into a parlay within that game—beyond just the standard spread, moneyline, and over/under totals.

Here’s an example of my Same Game Parlay recommendation for the Monday Night Football matchup between Pittsburgh and Chicago last week:

Total Odds: +470

Check, check, check, RED! Like so many of our Same Game Parlays this season, we got 75 percent right and one player prop wrong. After hauling in 29 or more receiving yards in his previous two games—and five of his eight games on the season— Najee Harris only cleared 16 air yards against the Bears. Fiddlesticks! Well, we are holding our head high as we foray into Week 10. Let’s go after a low-cost, high-reward parlay, and really mix it up!

Rams vs. 49ers Same Game Parlay for Monday Night Football

Total Odds (4 Legs): +888

Totals: Rams OVER 27.5 Points (-110)

We have no clue who will win this game, because it’s Monday Night Football and crazy things always seem to happen in primetime. Our best educated guess is that the Rams will prevail, as they have clearly been the better overall squad all season. LA’s defense went from good to better with the recent acquisition of longtime Bronco linebacker Von Miller, and the Rams’ addition of wideout “(player-popup #odell-beckham)Odell Beckham Jr came just before the loss of Robert Woods to an ACL tear. I’m going with the Rams’ OVER because Matthew Stafford has played like an MVP this season, and he has a mind meld with top LA receiver Cooper Kupp. Between Kupp, Beckham, tight end Tyler Higbee, and running back Darrell Henderson, the Rams still have plenty of offensive firepower without Woods. Henderson might be the x-factor in this one—the 49ers have been uncharacteristically poor against the run this season. San Fran ranks 28th in the NFL in average rushing yards allowed (131.6 per game). If you have more intestinal fortitude for me, throw in the Rams’ -186 moneyline. But I’m staying clear of picking Monday night winners. I’ll play it safe and pick LA to score the equivalent of four total touchdowns/PATs.

Tri Bet 10.5: Either Team Wins By Under 10.5 Points (-160)

Again, I’m staying clear of picking an outright winner tonight. Gun to my head, I’m going Rams. But I am much more comfortable betting that neither team will win in a blowout. The tri bet system works for us just fine—you can select margins of 3.5, 7.5, or 10.5 (sometimes even 13.5), and then choose one of three scenarios involving whichever margin you choose. For tonight, we are choosing 10.5 points, and saying that neither team will win by that margin. Before the Chiefs destroyed the Raiders last night, most primetime games this season have been decided by single digits. In fact, the last four Monday Night Football games have yielded winning margins of three or fewer points. While LA may be a superior all-around squad, San Fran has plenty of weapons on offense. Top tight end George Kittle is back to his dominant pass-catching ways, and breakout halfback Elijah Mitchell has looked superb in his role as “next man up” in the Niners running game. Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo has quietly thrown for 322-plus yards in each of the past two weeks, while logging QB ratings of 100.6 for the third and fourth times in his seven-game season. I don’t think the 3-5 49ers can upset the 7-2 Rams, but I do think they can keep it close at home.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Darrell Henderson (-121)

Like I mentioned in the first leg, Darrell Henderson could be the x-factor for LA tonight. The Niners surrender over 130 rushing yards per game, and only two teams have allowed more touchdowns on the ground (12). Henderson has been the de facto workhorse for the Rams, appearing in at least 60 percent of offensive snaps in every game this season. He sees 14-20 touches per game, averages 4.6 yards per carry, and catches 67.9 percent of his targets (while averaging 7.6 yards per reception). Henderson has seven touchdowns on the season, and we’re willing to bet he will nab his eighth this evening.

Receiving Props: George Kittle 75+ Receiving Yards (+130)

Many factors have gone into San Francisco’s struggles this season. Its running back corps has been marred with injury. Its defense isn’t what it used to be. Quarterback play from Jimmy G and rookie Trey Lance has been inconsistent, to put it mildly, with the Niners committing multiple turnovers in five of their eight games. And San Fran’s top pass-catcher, George Kittle, was hurt from Week 5 through Week 8. Well, Kittle returned last week, just in time to catch Jimmy G’s best stretch of the season. The two-time Pro Bowler caught 6-of-8 targets last week against Arizona, netting 101 yards and a touchdown. Kittle has surpassed 75 yards in three of his five games this season, and I’m betting he’ll hit that mark once more tonight.
