NFL Odds and Picks: Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Ravens-steelers-RG3

There’s still one Week 12 game left, and if all goes according to plan, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off at 3:40 ET Wednesday afternoon.

Originally scheduled for the prime-time slot on Thanksgiving, this historic AFC North rivalry has been postponed three times over the last six days. But, hey, I’m not complaining about some NFL betting action that will keep me busy on the final stretch of the workday.

Here’s a look at the odds and best bets for Wednesday’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers:

NFL Odds — Ravens vs. Steelers

The undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers are 10-point favorites against a Ravens team that will be missing some of their top playmakers. The players not making the game include quarterback Lamar Jackson, tight end Mark Andrews, wide receiver Willie Snead, fullback Patrick Ricard, plus a handful of offensive linemen.

Now you understand why the Steelers are favored by double digits across the online sports betting industry.

As of Wednesday morning, it’s particularly important to use our NFL odds tool to shop for the best price for your football bets. If you’re a Steelers bettor, you want to head to PointsBet where you’re only laying 10 points. If you’re looking to back the Ravens, however, you’re better off paying at BetMGM where the line is Ravens +10.5; similarly, you’ll want to bet Under 42 at FanDuel Sportsbook or Over 40.5 at BetMGM.

At the time of this writing, 59% of the money is on the Steelers and 76% is on the Under, per Scores and Odds.

Jackson inactive means “(player-popup #robert-griffin-iii)Robert Griffin III will be behind center. The last time Griffin received significant playing time it was against none other than the Steelers, though the performance wasn’t exactly pretty. Griffin completed 11-of-21 pass attempts for 96 yards (4.6 yard per attempt) while taking three sacks and throwing an interception. RG3 did find some success on the ground in that late December game, rushing for 50 yards on eight carries.

He faces a tall task today, as the Ravens sit 6-4 and will be on the outside looking in when it comes to the AFC playoff standings if they don’t grab a W at Heinz Field.

Here’s how I’m betting on the Ravens vs. Steelers.

Ravens vs. Steelers Betting Picks

Ravens +10.5

With so much unknown, I don’t love either side of the spread or total. But as I alluded to earlier, I’m looking for something to make the final few hours of the workday go by fast. I’m inclined to take the Ravens with the extra half point we’re seeing at BetMGM.

Their defense is stout, and they might be undefeated, but the Steelers have been beneficiaries of one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Remember, it was just a couple of weeks ago that the Steelers nearly slipped up to the Garret Gilbert-led Dallas Cowboys. Pittsburgh had to reach the end zone twice in the fourth quarter to erase a 10-point deficit.

It’s also worth noting that the Steelers will be without running back James Conner. Conner will be replaced by Benny Snell, which shouldn’t be much of a downgrade.

Update: Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and will not play against Baltimore. Despite that, the Steelers are -10.5 across most sportsbooks just two hours before kickoff.

Under 42

I’m happy to take Under 42 (Update: now 42.5 at BetMGM). Though the Ravens lose a ton on offense, they are a bit healthier on the defensive side of the ball than they have been in recent weeks. Expect a lot of running on behalf of the Ravens, albeit less efficiently than when Jackson is taking the snaps.
