Rise & Grind: Thursday, March 12th
Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through the yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.
In Case You Missed It
FantasyAces Freeroll – Want to win a free trip to Newport Beach? How about a $109 Qualifier ticket? If either of those sound good, we have a deal for you. RotoGrinders will be hosting a freeroll tomorrow night. Here is how you can participate. You need an account at FantasyAces tracked to RotoGrinders. Click on the link in this forum thread and create one. If you already have an account tracked to RotoGrinders, you simply need to have played one game in the last 30 days. If you haven’t done that, shame on you. That’s okay though, you can still enter a contest tonight to become eligible. The link for the freeroll should be emailed out later today and again tomorrow.
FanDuel Baseball – With just 25 days remaining until opening day, FanDuel now has MLB contests posted. There is close to a million dollars in guaranteed prizes already in the lobby. Those contests include a $200K Monster and a $300K Grand Slam. Stay tuned for an announcement on RotoGrinders MLB offerings for the upcoming season. It should be every bit as exciting as the DraftKings merchandise store, but Ethan doesn’t work here anymore, so we probably won’t film a video to hype it up.
Big Winners – In the FanDuel Slam, theclone lived up to his name, as he cloned his winning entry three times. He also entered the same lineup in the Monster and claimed first, and he was followed by ganondorf who claimed second and third. Over on DraftKings, stubbysooner77 claimed first in the $125K Wednesday Special while dudeoflife claimed first and second in the 3-Ball. As always, the full list of links can be found in the forums.
Little Drummond Boy – Stop me if you have heard this song before. “Come they told me, reb reb reb reb. A new born King to see, reb reb reb reb reb reb reb reb reb reb.” Yep, you guessed it, those are the lyrics to Little Drummond Boy, which is a song winners were singing last night. There are actually 27 rebs in there. Other carols were also sung last night, including The Worst Noel and O Middleton went Ham. I’m sure you already know the lyrics to those though.
On The Menu
NBA Tonight – If you are still reading this after that terrible joke, I applaud you. You seem like the kind of person who won’t let a bad night or a bad joke scare you away. That’s good because we have more NBA DFS tonight. Instead of the usual two Thursday games, we get five tonight. Notorious already has his First Look posted. Later today, Notorious will be back with more analysis in the NBA Grind Down, a25Smith will have the Starting Five based on Vegas odds and Ohnjz will have a look at some advanced matchups in his incentives piece.
#Narrative Street – The information you really need though is which players might have a little extra motivation tonight. If I’m being honest, tonight isn’t the night to go all in on narratives. Nothing obvious pops out. Jerami Grant has a birthday, but the 76ers don’t play tonight. The main narrative to take advantage of tonight is LeBron James looking for #revenge against the Spurs for last season’s NBA Finals loss. With an even spread in this game, Kawhi not load on both sides of this matchup? Take LeBron and Leonard tonight in both SF spots and thank me later.
NHL Tonight – With a -360 moneyline, you already know it’s a good idea to get a Fleury of Penguins in your lineup tonight. Marc-Andre Fleury and the Penguins face off against Edmonton, who is one of the worst teams in hockey right now. If you enjoy a good hockey narrative, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to build trust back in their locker room. A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced about a fistfight in the locker room. While nothing has been confirmed, sources are claiming Patrick Sharp is sleeping with a teammate’s wife or girlfriend. Many are claiming that teammate is Patrick Kane, but it could also be Jonathan Toews (pronounced toes). Let’s see if Sharp can get back to putting Toews before hoes. If the narrative thing isn’t working for you, that’s okay, TheTonyM will have NHL Daily plays for you later today. Pepsi7 will also bring you FanDuel GPP Plays and the Frozen Five.
CBB Today/Tonight – If you hurry, you can get some CBB action in today. There is a five-game slate kicking off at 12 EST, a 10-game slate at 2:00 PM EST, and a 12-game slate at 7:00 PM EST. Varncass already has his picks up for the early games and should have the evening slate posted sometime around noon. The picks are premium content, but you can always sign up a one-week free trial.
With that Grinders, it’s time to say goodbye. Thanks for reading, and congratulations on making it all the way through. See you tomorrow!
