Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

$750,000 Stat Correction – The NBA announced yesterday that Russell Westbrook was incorrectly credited with a rebound on Sunday. With the correction applied, Westbrook now finishes one rebound shy of a triple-double.

While losing the triple-double probably isn’t a big deal to Westbrook, it would have mattered to WFBC runner-up Makisupa. As you may remember, GOULET edged out Makisupa 307.25-305.25 in the DraftKings WFBC. If Westbrook loses the rebound and triple-double bonus (4.25 points), our new champion is Makisupa. Unfortunately, DraftKings rules are very clear that stat corrections are not honored after payouts have run. For poor Makisupa, there can only be one response to this. Take it away Villanova sad piccolo girl.

NBA Last Night – The NBA late scratch gods claimed more victims last night. Joakim Noah was scratched roughly 10 minutes prior to the lock with soreness. Many were able to sub off Noah, but a few players did not get the news. Later in the night, with no warning whatsoever, Kevin Martin was scratched with a sore hamstring. As someone who had Martin on every single team, I can say confidently K-Mart is an appropriate nickname. Also, this is why K-Mart went out of business. Wal-Mart is open 24 hours, no way they would not play with a sore hamstring. Anyways, I’m just bitter. On a positive note, James Harden shot 23 free throws en route to a 63.3 FanDuel point effort, while Evan Turner notched a triple double, proving why they were both better choices than K-Mart.

Big Winners – Congratulations to Grinder scout326, who had a huge night on FanDuel. Scout took five of the top 10 places in the Slam, including first and second. He also claimed second and third in the Swat – well done sir. In high roller NBA, csuram88 claimed second in the baller and ehafner claimed fourth. In NHL, recent WFHC champion mirage88 claimed second in the Goal and first in the Monster. Over on DraftKings, ibtesamanjum claimed first in the Crossover and Dwaterman86 won the 3-Ball. SportsTradex Championship – Here at the Rise and Grind, we love smaller sites and non-traditional DFS contests. One of the more interesting small sites is SportsTradex. Instead of picking players based on a salary cap, you select players from different tiers. If you haven’t tried out SportsTradex before, tonight is the perfect day to try it out. SportsTradex is running a Basketball Championship with $10,000 guaranteed. The buy-in is $200 and first place claims $3000 in cash and all the bragging rights. For info on how SportsTradex works and some strategy for tonight, give TwoGun’s piece a read here. If you are new to SportsTradex, make sure to sign up through the RotoGrinders link for a sweet deposit bonus.

On The Menu

NHL Tonight – It’s Tuesday, which means eight games on the ice tonight. It also means expanded NHL content here at RotoGrinders. Boggslite will have the usual NHL Daily Plays column, and then at 3:30 PM EST Billsfan777 will join Boggslite for The Daily Fantasy Faceoff.

CBB Tonight – If you enjoy two-game slates, CBB has something for you tonight. Miami and Richmond tip off some NIT action at 7:00 PM EST. They will be followed by Vanderbilt and Stanford at 9:00. Due to the short slate, there will not be any expert content on for tonight, but don’t let that stop you. It’s only two games, surely you can spare enough time to figure out who will get minutes for the four teams playing.

NBA Tonight – With six games on tap, we will have all the usual offerings for NBA today. Notorious’ First Look is already posted. Later, we will have Starting Five, Advanced Matchups, NBA Grind Down, and two hours of analysis on GrindersLive at 4:30.

#NarrativeStreet – If you can’t wait until all the pieces I just mentioned come out, you can start your research right here on Narrative Street. As we all know, you need to identify players with a little extra motivation if you want to win a GPP. Let’s take a look at some candidates. Yesterday, Jason Kidd had a birthday and today Chris Bosh has one. Both of those guys will be on the sidelines tonight as Miami takes on Milwaukee. This entire game gets the #BirthdayGame bump. Grab yourself a #YoloStack (copyright Al_Smizzle) and pray for overtime. On the revenge front, things are a bit scarce so we will go a different direction. Former Kentucky Wildcats Nerlens Noel and DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins matchup tonight for a little blue-on-blue violence. Boogie got the best of this matchup last time and probably will again. Noel still had a decent game though and will look to steal the title of best guy who played for Kentucky.

The Last Word – I’m trying something new in this space. Everyday going forward I will highlight the most important points and mention anything that didn’t merit a standalone blurb. For today, the Rise and Grind officially endorses the SportsTradex championship. Tonight is also your last chance to win a ticket into tomorrow’s Million Dollar Slam on FanDuel. If you can’t afford $25, try and win a ticket tonight for $1,$2, or even $5. Lastly, we have all had some bad beats. Kevin Martin on 100% of my teams hurt last night. With that being said, none of us lost $750K on a stats correction. Even if you did, this is Daily Fantasy Sports, you can always get back in the game tonight. Keep a level head and remember it’ not a marathon or a sprint it’s a Grind!
