Saturday’s NFL action features three games, including a mid-afternoon affair between the Steelers and Colts at 4:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Entering play, the Steelers and Colts are both alive in the AFC playoff picture, making this an early playoff game in many respects. The main hurdle for bettors is that both teams will be playing with a backup quarterback today, which makes playing a side or total a volatile option.

If looking to wager on the player prop market instead of a side or total in this game, we have three prop leans for this matchup between the Steelers and Colts!

Steelers vs. Colts NFL Player Props for Saturday, December 16

Zack Moss u73.5 Rushing Yards (-115), BetMGM

Zack Moss has received 11+ attempts in four games since Week 7, but he has come nowhere close to clearing this market number in any of those contests. Twice in that span, Moss has received 18+ rush attempts but failed to hit 60 rushing yards. Since Week 11, Pittsburgh’s defense ranks 9th in EPA/play and 2nd in success rate against the run. Edge defender Alex Highsmith appears to be back healthy for this afternoon’s contest, which will only further solidify the Steelers’ run defense. This could be an easy under on Saturday.

Mitchell Trubisky u19.5 Pass Completions (-112), FanDuel

Mitchell Trubisky had 22 completions last week against the Patriots, but the Steelers trailed for the entirety of the game, which forced him to throw the ball 35 times. The game plan on Saturday against the Colts is likely to try to dial-back his responsibilities in the air, facing a Colts run defense that ranks 22nd in EPA/play and 20th in success rate against the run since Week 11. The Colts will also return cornerback JuJu Brents to the secondary unit today, which only helps their defensive efforts against the pass. The under makes sense in this spot.

Michael Pittman u73.5 Receiving Yards (-110), FanDuel

Michael Pittman is in the midst of the best stretch of his career, with at least eight receptions in six consecutive games. He has at least 84 receiving yards in each of his last four contests, but he has two games during his recent hot stretch in which he has gone under this market number for receiving yards. Pittsburgh has been extremely vulnerable against opposing tight ends and running backs in recent weeks with their linebacker corps decimated by injury, which could reduce the need to force-feed Pittman in this spot. Ja’Marr Chase had only 29 receiving yards against the Steelers on December 10, and he might not be the only #1 receiver to struggle against Pittsburgh’s secondary unit this month.
