STLCards' Covering The Bases - Sunday, April 18th

Happy Sunday, Grinders! We have nine games on the main slate on DraftKings today, with eight available on FanDuel. FD is excluding the first game of the CHW/BOS doubleheader from their slate, while DraftKings has left that as an available option. This looks to be a fun slate with a lot of good options on both the pitching and the offense fronts, so let’s get right down to business!

Sunday Slate Cliff Notes

Here’s a summary of what lies below, in case you do not wish to read the entire analysis today.

Top Pitchers – We have options at every price level today, so it all depends on what you have for salary. If you are spending up, I prefer Bieber to Cole, but both are great options. In the next tier, I clearly have Peralta ahead of Nola and Strasburg given Peralta’s elite stuff and matchup against the Pirates (though his walks are always a concern). Nola is fine in cash games, while Strasburg is a risk/reward GPP option depending on whether or not his velocity is back today. If you are looking to go cheaper, John Means and Pablo Lopez have favorable matchups today and are worth a look.

Tier I Offenses – Nationals, Phillies, Brewers lefties

Tier II Offenses – Orioles, Yankees, Blue Jays, Royals, Indians
