Week 17
Welcome back to the NFL Field Stretcher for Week #17! Since this week is so much different than all the other weeks, I’m going to change up the format a little bit this week and do a brief team-by-team breakdown, which will help to figure out which teams have something to play for, which teams are resting players, etc… There’s a lot to break down, so let’s get to it!
As an FYI item – for a look at my player pool that I usually post at the bottom of the article, check out my “GPP” Filter within our LineupHQ tool!
Atlanta (-1) at Tampa Bay – 51 total
Atlanta – Eliminated from playoff contention on the heels of a poor season
This is a meaningless game for both teams, but we do have a one point spread and a 51 point total, so this is one of the sneakier games to target for the week. Tampa Bay has struggled on defense all year long, and while they have been a little better of late, this is still a defense that we can attack. The problem becomes figuring out who is going to be out there for the Falcons. Tevin Coleman and Julio Jones have not practiced this week, and it’s not looking good for Coleman right now. If he is sidelined, Brian Hill might become the random Week 17 value darling this year. I expect Jones to play as he looks to secure the receiving yardage title over DeAndre Hopkins, and he will also be a solid option as long as he is a full go. It’s hard to get too excited about anyone else, and I like other quarterbacks over Matt Ryan.
