2023 Tour Championship Forecast and Projections
We’re teeing off for the Tour Championship this week outside of Atlanta, GA, and outside of the brutal heat, the weather doesn’t look to be a major issue.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the time frame with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Tour Championship Weather Report & Forecast
Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, August 24th
Hot and dry with light (0-5mph) winds all day. The only concern for me is the afternoon heat, and how quick the greens might play later in the day after baking in the sun all day.
Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, August 25th
Pretty much a carbon copy of Day 1, though maybe we’ll get winds closer to 10mph around noon. Still manageable winds, searing heat.
Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, August 26th
A typical weather pattern here, winds 5-10mph to start, increasing to close to 10+mph by the afternoon with stronger gusts.
Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, August 27th
Could get a bit interesting later on Sunday with rain and storm chances picking back up, winds don’t look to be a major factor, though it will be a touch breezier in the afternoon than morning.
Tour Championship Weather Forecast
As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In the case of The Tour Championship, we don’t have much of either. I don’t see a useable weather edge anywhere throughout the tournament. We’ll get ‘em next time. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
