NFL Week 6 – Best Bets: Player Props

Sam Howell o236.5 Passing Yards (-120), BetMGM

Sam Howell has been erratic so far this fall, throwing for as many as 388 passing yards, but as few as 170 passing yards. He has led the Washington offense to at least 31 points twice, but they have also posted three games with 20 points or fewer. Part of Howell’s inconsistency can be attributed to protection. According to PFF, Howell has completed 72.7% of his pass attempts for 7.5 yards per attempt from a clean pocket this fall, compared to a 57.7% completion rate and 6.0 yards per attempt when under pressure. In Week 6, Howell gets to face an Atlanta defense that had the second-lowest defensive pressure rate of any team in the league last week and has not had higher than a 21.2% defensive pressure rate since their season opener. Howell is well positioned for a bounce-back game in this spot.

Matthew Stafford o275.5 Passing Yards (-110), Bet365

Matthew Stafford has been sensational from a clean pocket so far in 2023, completing 72.7% of his pass attempts for 8.3 yards per attempt and five touchdowns. On Sunday afternoon, Stafford gets a dream matchup against an Arizona defense that has put pressure on opposing quarterbacks less frequently than every other team in the NFL through the first five weeks of the season. Stafford has thrown for at least 307 passing yards three times in five games to begin the new campaign. He should be able to threaten 300 passing yards again in Week 6 against a weak defense.

NFL DFS Pick’em

Lamar Jackson More Than 19.5 Completions, PrizePicks

In five games played this fall, Lamar Jackson has eclipsed this market number three times. Playing overseas in Week 6, Jackson has a great opportunity to do so again, facing a Tennessee defense that is dealing with a myriad of injury issues prior to kickoff. Last weekend, only seven teams had a lower defensive pressure rate than the Titans. This weekend, the Titans had a delayed trip to London and could be without multiple key pieces of their defense. Jackson is completing 79.6% of his pass attempts from a clean pocket this year compared to a 40.0% completion rate when under pressure. He should be able to take advantage of a favorable matchup on Sunday to get the job done here.
