Michael Foltynewicz vs Marlins: $47
We have some good, but not great pitching on the slate tonight and my first choice of the bunch is Folty because of the nice park upgrade, extreme pitching umpire, and the soft matchup against the Marlins. He comes into today with a 3.68 SIERA, 28.2% K%, and a 10.3% SwStr%. He’s coming off three strong performances, and even scrolling through his game logs, it’s hard to find a really bad start. I expect him to breeze through this putrid Marlins lineup with an efficient performance. The Marlins rank 28th in wOBA, 30th in ISO, and 27th in wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching this season. They also have a reputation for not striking out, but actually rank 11th in K% vs. right-handed pitching this season and Folty has the stuff to mow them down when he’s on. This matchup offers safety and upside.
