Saturday, February 10th
Tonight, we have a six game slate to choose from with five teams (Clippers, 76ers, Bucks, Bulls, Nuggets,) on the second half of a back-to-back. Let’s have a look at some of my favorite plays for the slate.
Point Guard
PG: D.J. Augustin, Orlando Magic, $11
We start off with the easiest play on the slate, as Yahoo hasn’t adjusted pricing for D.J. Augustine’s new starting role since trading away Elfrid Payton. In his first game without Paytin, Augustine played 35 minutes and it looks as though not only will he run the point, but also share some court time with the backup point guard Shelvin Mack, further solidifying a large minutes load. He absolutely smashed value by going for 41.1 fantasy points in his last game against the Hawks, though that was a much friendlier matchup than he has tonight against the Bucks, currently ranked 8th in DVP vs. the point guard position. I would temper my expectations from last game, but this play is just about simple math. Augustine is a .84 fantasy-point per minute player and should see over 30 minutes again tonight, making him too good to pass on at this price and I suggest locking him in, but if you are looking to beat him in tournaments, you can also look to Patty Mills returning to his college hometown and starting against the Warriors tonight for a buck cheaper.
