Parx Online Sports Betting

It has been almost a month since PA online sports betting got its first taste of action with SugarHouse PA online sportsbook launching in late May. And now, the number one and two casinos in Pennsylvania – Parx Casino and Rivers Casino – are set to launch their online sportsbooks.

The first three days will be what is referred to as a “soft launch” where the hours will be limited while being monitored by the PGCB to verify that important factors such as geolocation and age verification are functioning properly. If all goes well, as early as Thursday, June 24th, we could have three PA online sportsbooks running 24/7.

This is a huge step forward for online sports betting in Pennsylvania, but there is still some bad news for iPhone users. The online sportsbooks will only be available on desktops/laptops and android smartphones and tablets. Due to new regulations set forth by Apple, iOS powered devices will not be seeing any PA online sportsbooks listed in the App Store anytime soon.

Parx Online Sportsbook’s Soft Launch

During the Parx online sportsbook soft launch, you will have access to the full book, but hours are limited to the following:

Upon completion of successful testing, Rivers and Parx will begin 24/7 operations beginning early Thursday morning.

Parx is offering a one time free bet up to $250. Simply place a bet and if it loses, Parx will refund your losing bet in full up to $250 in the form of a free bet. Parx is also offering a one time $10 free bet just for signing up!

Parx has been busy over the past 6 months in an effort to be the premiere destination for all sports betting needs in Pennsylvania. While Parx is hard at work building a permanent sportsbook, they went live on January 7th in a temporary location set up in the Parx 360 lounge. Parx also acquired the South Philadelphia Turf Club, which is located in the middle of all the Philadelphia sports action, and the Valley Forge Race and Sportsbook in Oaks.

Although Parx seemed hesitant to offer any online gaming at first, they have since gone all out getting ready to dominate the virtual casino and sportsbook markets as they have the brick and mortar scene. Parx was one of the first to apply and one of the first to be approved to offer online sports betting in Pennsylvania, and will now be one of the first to launch an online product.

Rivers Online Sportsbook

Rivers Casino is located on Pittsburgh’s North Shore and has a virtual monopoly on the western half of the state. Rivers casino retail sportsbook is ranked number two in the state behind only their sister casino, SugarHouse, who is also owned by Rush Street Gaming. SugarHouse also happens to be the only online sportsbook in Pennsylvania, giving Rivers a distinct advantage when it comes to launching an online sportsbook in Pennsylvania.

Rivers is expected to begin a soft launch phase for their product the week of June 24th as well, though details are not as concrete as what Parx has released. Will will keep youup to date on Rivers’ timetable for its online sportsbook launch.

If SugarHouse is any indication on what we should expect as a first deposit bonus from Rivers PA online sportsbook, it should be a very generous $250 deposit match with an unheard of 1x wagering requirement.

What’s Next for Pennsylvania Online Sports Betting?

Parx and Rivers casinos launching their online sportsbooks are just the next step in what should be a very exciting few months here in the PA online sports betting market. Big names such as FanDuel, William Hill (Penn National), Caesars (Harrahs Philadelphia) and others should be opening their virtual doors to online sports betting any day now as well.

In addition to online sportsbooks, online casinos and PA online poker have the green light to begin on July 15th. Most casinos and sportsbooks will have shared wallets so placing a sportsbet while playing some blackjack on your couch is not too far away.
