Monday Night Football returns this evening with a matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. Last weekend, San Francisco suffered their first loss of the season, playing in poor weather conditions in Cleveland. Minnesota is only 2-4, but they have yet to lose by more than one score in a game this year.

Ahead of kickoff, the 49ers are favored by 7 points on the spread. The game total is set at over/under 43.5 points. If choosing to wager instead on the player prop market, we have three prop leans for tonight’s matchup!

49ers vs. Vikings Player Props for MNF

Brock Purdy o19.5 Completions (-115), Bet365

The Minnesota defense has been surprisingly strong against the run to begin 2023, ranking 9th in opponent rushing yards per play through six games played. The Vikings also blitz at the highest rate of any defense in the NFL, which means the deep passing game is pretty much off-limits on Monday Night Football for the 49ers. As a result, this offense is likely to rely extensively on quick-developing routes for Brock Purdy and the offense. Purdy has a 57.9% completion rate against the blitz this season, compared to a 75.0% completion rate when not blitzed. Yet, 20 completions is far from a tall number and is among the lowest market number for any quarterback in Week 7. If this game ends up being competitive, Purdy will be forced to throw the ball close to 30 times. The over appears to have quite a bit of value here, especially considering how much San Francisco has emphasized countering the blitz this week at practice.

Brock Purdy o240.5 Passing Yards (-115), DraftKings

Brock Purdy has struggled against the blitz, to some extent, since entering the league last fall. Yet, he has consistently become more efficient in this area the more he has seen different blitz packages across the NFL. In Week 3, the New York Giants blitzed Purdy on 85 percent of his dropbacks, according to The Athletic. Purdy finished that game with 310 passing yards and a pair of passing touchdowns, while completing 25-of-37 pass attempts. Purdy was 19-for-31 for 252 passing yards against the blitz alone in that contest. Expect this offense to prioritize getting the ball out quickly, especially with Trent Williams unlikely to play. San Francisco has elusive weapons in space after the catch, which is where a lot of these yards could come from tonight. The over is worth a small stab.

NFL DFS Pick’em

Jordan Addison More Than 50.5 Receiving Yards, PrizePicks

Jordan Addison fell under this market number last week against the Chicago Bears, but that had more to do with the game script than anything else. Minnesota comfortably handled the flow of that contest and did not push the envelope in the second half after Justin Fields left early due to injury. Tonight will be a different story against a much more formidable San Francisco team. Kirk Cousins and company are likely to have to push the ball downfield much more if they hope to stay competitive on Monday Night Football, which means that Addison could be in for a big day. He has eclipsed this market number four times already this fall, and has a great opportunity to build on that positive hit-rate tonight with Justin Jefferson on the sidelines.
