MLB Daily Grind Down June 2nd Part 3

The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit.
While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries. The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time. (any fp listed uses Fanduel’s scoring system)

- OU 8.5
- Favored LAA -260
Pitchers
- Home C.J. Wilson is an automatic play versus HOU in a multiple pitcher format. He is not pitching well enough for me to consider him in a single pitcher format despit the huge -260 line Vegas has given him. HOU is batting .260 on the road, .238 versus right-handers, and .258 over the last 7 days. In Play
- Away I try not to use AAA pitcher in my daily LUs so it is safe to say that I will not be taking Jordan Lyles tonight. Lyles did nt have all that good of a run in the second half of last year and has been hit hard to open the season again this year. LAA is batting .279 at home, .272 versus right-handers and, .246 over the last 7 days. *Avoid
Batters
- Home Ladies and Gentlemen start you LAA stacks!
- Away A hot Jason Castro is the only Astro I can say is playable right now. Most of HOU hits lefties well if you want to gamble

CHW BvP | CHW vs R | OAK BvP | OAK vs L | ||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 7
- Favored Pick’em
Pitchers
- Home Jarrod Parker has not been good on the year and I Know CHW either but I do not understand how this game can be listed as a pick’em with Chris Sale on the opposite end of the mound. Parker has been even worse at home with a 6.42 ERA. CHW is batting .251 on the road, .238 versus right-handers and .229 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away Chris Sale is only a 3.51 pitcher on the road but I kind of like him today in this pitcher’s park. OAK does not scare me and he is on a nice run. OAK is batting .237 at home, .267 versus left-handers and, .286 over the last 7 days.
Batters
- Home If you are playing the fade then Jed Lowrie hits lefties well and is cheap coming off of an injury. Yoenis Cespedes gets the traditional splits in his favor and has been hot with 24.75 fp over the last week.
- Away I have no numbers to support this claim but I think that CHW gets to Parker today and I think everyone is playable. I have ben wring before so take this advice with a grain of salt.
LA Dodgers at Colorado

LAD BvP | LAD vs L | COL BvP | COL vs L | ||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 9
- Favored COL -134
Pitchers
- Home Jorge De La Rosa is pitching well at home but I am not sure he is worth the gamble given his limited K/9 upside. Why take a chance on him when there are much better options going today. LAD is batting .255 on the road, .281 versus left-handers, and .277 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away Hyun-Jin Ryu has huge K/9 potential. The fac that the ball carries on COL does not matter if their players are not hitting the ball. I am not going to gamble on him but he could pitch very well. COL is batting .278 at home, .260 versus left-handers and .275 over the last 7 days. In Play
Batters
- Home Dexter Fowler, Michael Cuddyer, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez have all been hot. Troy Tulowitzki is batting .404 at home.
- Away Adrian Gonzalez has been hot producing 31 fp over the last 7 days. He is 11-31 versus De La Rosa with 3 HRs and has hit lefties well on the year so do not worry about the lefty/lefty splits. Nick Punto is bating .394 versus left-handers. Matt Kemp is 11-26 versus him also with 3 HRs but I am not sure I trust him.
Boston at NY Yankees
| Boston | NY Yankees | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yankee Stadium | 8:00 PM | ||||||
| Clay Buchholz – (7-0), 1.73 ERA, 9.1 K/9, 1.053 WHIP | Hiroki Kuroda – (6-3), 2.39 ERA, 6.16 K/9, 1.012 WHIP | ||||||

BOS BvP | BOS vs R | NYY BvP | NYY vs R | ||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 8
- Favored NYY -115
Pitchers
- Home Horoki Kuroda has been a great home pitcher but these two teams always play each other tough so I think I will be avoiding him today. Still his 1.44 home ERA is playable. BOS is batting .265 on the road, .283 versus right-handers, and .301 over the last 7 days. In Play
- Away Clay Buchholz had a great start to the season. It is hard to trust the right-hander on the road against this heavily left-hand hitting team. NYY is batting .248 at home, .250 versus right-handers and .224 over the last 7 days. In Play
Batters
- Home Robinson Cano is 12-28 with 1 HR versus Clay. Most of NYY has had some success versus Clay so consider the eft-handed bats playabale.
- Away BOS owns a .286 BAA vs Kuroda so consider everyone in play but consider the left-handed bats especially.

Las Vegas
- OU 8.5
- Favored SDG -116
Pitchers
- Normally the late game offers some suspense but Edinson Volquez vs Ramon Ortiz is not nail biter. The problem is that both pitchers have pitch well enough that a load is not recommended even though I do not expect them to pitch well tonight.
Batters
- Home It is hard to argue with Marquis success at home. Edwin Encarnacion is 10-20 with 3 HRs versus him. Emilio Bonafico is 7-16 versus him as well. Much of TOR has been hot and they bat well at home so consider everyone playable.
- Away This Might be the only time you hear me say this all year. Ladies and Gentlemen start your SDG stacks! |
