What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – TB -168
Pitcher Grind Down
TB – Roberto Hernandez Fausto Carmona Sanchez takes the mound tonight. The Rays have been red hot lately, but with Hernandez you get more downside than you do upside. His K numbers have not been there lately and he gives up too many hits for me. Rating = 5
ARI – Ian Kennedy has had a season of struggles. He has struggled at home, on the road, against right hand bats, against left hand bats, and he has even struggled against easy opponents. A matchup against the red hot Rays does not look like it will end well for Kennedy. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
TB – Kennedy is giving up an OPS of .862 to left hand bats this season so that gives a bump to Luke Scott, James Loney, and Kelly Johnson. But I think all of the Rays are in play right now the way they are swinging their bats.
ARI – This could be a sneaky place for a D-Backs mini stack. Hernandez just isn’t that great of a pitcher, especially against left hand bats whom he is allowing to hit for an OPS of .899. Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra are both great value plays.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – MIA -125
Pitcher Grind Down
MIA – Nate Eovaldi is a pitcher that I would much rather pick on than take as a starting pitcher. He had a very surprising outing against the Rockies in his last start, but had given up 12 earned runs in his previous 3 starts. He is favored in this game, but I’m not sure why, I would much rather take my chances with Wheeler. Rating = 4
NYM – Zach Wheeler has looked much better in his last 4 starts. He hasn’t allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of those starts and his strike out numbers have been there. He is still giving up a lot of hits, but if you are going to take a pitcher from this game, I think Wheeler has a much bigger upside than Eovaldi. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
MIA – Giancarlo Stanton has been the hottest hitter in baseball over the last week and a half and should continue to be taken until he cools off. Logan Morrison is also is play as Wheeler has allowed lefties to hit for a .937 OPS against him.
NYM – I may be going against the Vegas odds on this one, but I really like the Mets today. They have had good history against Eovaldi and I think they will score 5+ runs tonight. Eric Young, David Wright, and Daniel Murphy are all good plays. And I’m going to go out on a limb here and call an Ike Davis home run.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10.0
- Favored Team – BOS -175
Pitcher Grind Down
BOS – Take a quick look at the over/under. Anytime it reaches double digits it’s really hard to recommending take a starting pitcher in that game. However, Brandon Workman is a big favorite, but the Mariners do hit righties with power. If he is really cheap, he may be worth rostering, but I don’t love him today. Rating = 4
SEA – Double digit over under and a huge underdog. Sorry Joe Saunders, nothing personal, but you will not be on any of my rosters tonight. Rating = 1
Batter Grind Down
BOS – I mentioned the Phillies stack as the safest stack option of the night, but the Red Sox stack is a very close 2nd. You can expect a ton of runs out of the Sox tonight and all bats are in play.
SEA – The sample size is very small, but Workman has been getting crushed by right hand hitters. That makes Kendrys Morales and Nick Franklin both worth rostering tonight. Kyle Seager is also hot lately and is worth a look.

LAA vs L | LAA BvP | TEX vs L | TEX BvP | ||||||
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – TEX -135
Pitcher Grind Down
TEX – Battle of the lefties tonight. Derek Holland has been arguably the most consistent pitcher this year on the Rangers staff. His home/road splits are pretty close and he rarely ever gives up a lot of runs. So far this season against the Angels, he has been all 12’s. 12 innings pitched, 12 strike outs, and 12 hits. I think he pitches well enough to be in line for the win, but I think there are better options. Rating = 7
LAA – C.J. Wilson faces his former team whose bats have been ice cold at home lately. However, after a walk off home run last night, that could be just the spark that they needed. Wilson has a 4.21 ERA on the road with a 1.43 WHIP and has to pitch in a very hitter friendly ballpark. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
TEX – Both of these offenses are facing tough pitchers, but it is in a hitter’s park so something has to give. When the Rangers face a lefty, both Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz are in play. Elvis Andrus is another guy to take a look at as he now has an 11 game hitting streak.
LAA – Howie Kendrick is good against left hand pitching and has been really cheap across the board lately if you want a decent cheap option at 2B. I also think that you should at least consider rostering Mike Trout. No one seems to be able to get this guy out and this is a perfect ballpark for him.
