What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – ATL – 177
Pitcher Grind Down
ATL – Paul Maholm has been excellent at home this season, 1.64 ERA and a 1.030 WHIP. He also has a great matchup against this Mets team that really struggles on offense. I think Maholm pitches a gem tonight and will easily make his value. Target
NYM – Zach Wheeler is one of the top pitching prospects in the game and makes his first career start in the big leagues tonight. My strategy in these situations is to play it safe and let these guys have a couple of starts before I take a risk on them. Unless you can get Wheeler for way cheap, I think it’s safer to wait a few games. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
ATL – I think there is a decent chance that Wheeler struggles a bit in his first start. He will likely have some nerves in this one and often times these young pitchers struggle in their debuts. We will have to wait and see, but I think Freddie Freeman and B.J. Upton are both in play.
NYM – The Mets have not been good offensively except for David Wright, he has always been good against lefties, but I just don’t think there are going to be many runners on base when he gets up to bat.

PIT vs R | PIT BvP | CIN vs R | CIN BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – CIN – 180
Pitcher Grind Down
CIN – Mat Latos has been giving up quite a few hits recently and while he hasn’t had any big blow ups, he just hasn’t been great. But in his two starts against the Pirates this season, he has gone 12 strong innings with 13 K’s and an ERA of 2.87. I think he is in a good spot to pick up a win. Target
PIT – Charlie Morton got knocked around in his first start and this is not a great position for a bounce back game. The Reds hit 4 HR’s last night and are a very good offensive team at home. Plus, he is a big underdog. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
CIN – I love the left hand bats of the Reds tonight. Joey Votto and Jay Bruce should both mash against Morton. Todd Frazier has also been hot and has had some great success in the past against Morton going 4/5 with two doubles, a triple, and a homer.
PIT – The Pirates have not hit well against Latos at all. Jose Tabata and Michael McKenry have had the best luck against him and even their BvP numbers aren’t very good. I’m trusting the numbers here and staying away.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10.0
- Favored Team – BOS – 146
Pitcher Grind Down
BOS – Just take a look at the over/under and that will tell you everything you need to know about this pitching matchup. Alfredo Aceves is not a great starter and this will be a high scoring game. Avoid
TB – Jake Odorizzi has an ERA over 8 this season and faces a tough Red Sox lineup in Fenway. Avoid Avoid Avoid
Batter Grind Down
BOS – Great spot for the Red Sox today, I think they could put up 8+ runs easily. Odorizzi has not looked good in the majors this season and this is a really tough place to pitch. Load up on all of your Red Sox, they are all in play. I think Big Papi homers.
TB – Aceves has been surprisingly good against the Rays in his career, but I don’t expect that to continue tonight. The Rays have a very good offense from top to bottom and I think they are in a good spot as well. Evan Longoria is riding a nice hot streak and Desmond Jennings has really been picking it up lately.

OAK vs R | OAK BvP | TEX vs R | TEX BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – TEX – 170
Pitcher Grind Down
TEX – Yu Darvish has really managed to keep his ERA down over his last few starts which has been his biggest problem. He always picks up a good amount of strikeouts but tends to give up a few runs in the process. If he can stay away from trouble, that just makes him an even better option. The A’s are a tough offense, but I think Yu picks up 7-8 K’s and a win. In Play
OAK – Jarrod Parker has really been pitching better lately, but the Rangers may have snapped out of their funk after their big offensive night last night. Parker is a big underdog which I never like to take. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
TEX – I think the addition of Ian Kinsler back into the lineup is really going to help solidify this offense. He makes a solid play today as does Adrian Beltre and A.J. Pierzynski.
OAK – Coco Crisp has good BvP and always seems to score positive fantasy points. I am not a fan of too many A’s today, but Crisp will be on my radar.

CHW vs R | CHW BvP | MIN vs R | MIN BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – MIN -121
Pitcher Grind Down
MIN – Mike Pelfrey actually pitched well in his last start and now has a matchup against one of the worst offenses in baseball. Does that mean I trust him to pitch well tonight? HECK NO! He is still Mike freakin Pelfrey. Avoid
CWS – Dylan Axelrod is a very average pitcher that has a 1.510 WHIP on the road. He doesn’t strike out a ton of batters and his upside isn’t very big. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
MIN – The left hand bats of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau should be on your radar today. They both crush right hand pitching and should feast on Alexrod.
CWS – I think a lot of the White Sox are in play today thanks to their matchup against Pelfrey. Alex Rios, Alejandro De Aza, Adam Dunn, and Dayan Viciedo are all in play and are all very affordable.
