Pitcher Grind Down
- Corey Kluber – He has a 3.11 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 3 starts against the Royals this year with 17 K’s in 20 IP. I love this as an upside/GPP play today, especially with an unknown pitcher on the opposite bump. The offense behind him is hot and he could easily pick up the W. Starter Rating: 7 out of 10
- Yordano Ventura – Cleveland is red hot and I don’t know anything about this guy. Starter Rating: 0 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Alex Gordon is 3-12 with 2 HR vs. Kluber. Moose-Tacos is 4-12 with a 2B as well.
- The Royals came into Monday with just a .676 team OPS over the last week, but heated up on Monday a bit vs. Kazmir
- Ryan Raburn and Asdrubal Cabrera are 2 of the hottest hitters over the past week.
- I don’t know much about Ventura, so roll with the hotter Cleveland bats here.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Mike Pelfrey – ERA is 12 over the last 14 days and the White Sox exploded on Monday for double digit runs. Starter Rating: 2 out of 10
- Jose Quintana – Quintana draws one of the league’s least worrisome offenses at home, where he has a 3.38 ERA and 7.6 K/9 rate. He’s been strong over the last 14 days and again, there aren’t a ton of “guaranteed” options at SP tonight, so he’s worth a look. Starter Rating: 7 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Pelfrey allows lefties to a .788 OPS and .796 OPS to righties. He’s been bad.
- Adam Dunn went deep on Monday (props to DB730 for calling it) and is 9-36 with 3 HR off Pelfrey. Konerko is 5-8 with a double
- Josh Willingham is 5-10 with 2 HRs off Quintana. He’s also 5 for his last 12 with 2 homers. I like him as a GPP target today

STL vs R | STL BvP | COL vs R | COL BvP
Pitcher Grind Down
- Joe Kelly – Mediocre pitcher in Coors. Pass. Starter Rating: 3 out of 10
- Juan Nicasio – When he’s good, he’s really good and can strike a ton of hitters out. But when he’s bad he is REALLY bad. I don’t trust the Rockies to hold back this STL offense for consecutive nights in Coors. Starter Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- The O/U is set at 10 in this game, I like it to hit that and more.
- Yadier Molina is one of the catchers worth paying up for today. He has a .350 wOBA vs. RHP and .378 wOBA on the road.
- Nicasio has allowed righties to hit .295 with an .802 OPS against. Holliday is another solid Cards bat on top of Molina.
- Right handers are hitting .288 off Kelly, but not with a ton of pop. That can change in Coors though so seriously consider Cuddyer for a couple of doubles and Tulo with a great chance to go deep
- DJ LeMahieu has been really good over the past couple of months and hits right handers well

LAD vs L | LAD BvP | ARI vs R | ARI BvP
Pitcher Grind Down
- Zack Greinke – Pitcher’s duel! His ERA is a tiny 1.29 against the Dbacks this season and he’s been one of the most consistent pitchers of the last month. I love this play, but getting the W could be a challenge against Corbin. Starter Rating: 8 out of 10
- Patrick Corbin – Corbin has been much better at home, with a 2.21 ERA and about 8 K/9 but he’s struggled a bit in recent history. He hasn’t been great vs. LAD either, including allowing 8 hits in 6 1/3 IP in his last start. I like the play, but don’t love it. Starter Rating: 7 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- The O/U is a little higher than expected, sitting at 8.
- Miguel Montero is 4-11 with a HR off Greinke. Parra is 4-13 as well
- If HanRam plays, he’s been hot. He is 12 for his last 34 with 3 HR. He also has a .457 wOBA against lefties.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Garrett Richards – Three straight solid performances against decent to good offenses (TBR, TEX and TOR). Now he gets the A’s who are on fire in the month of September. They’re hitting .309 with 11 HR over the last 7 days and that is enough to scare me away from even stud pitchers. Starter Rating: 5 out of 10
- Sonny Gray – In a small sample, Gray has a 1.21 ERA at home with over 10 K/9. The kid is the real deal and throws a ton of pitches, unlike a lot of younger arms. He can go deep in the game and gets an Angels offense that has seemingly quit on this season. Starter Rating: 8 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Lefties have fared decently against Richards, hitting .280 against. I like Crisp, Lowrie, Moss, Reddick and Smith for the Athletics.
- Cespedes is 2-6 with 2 XBH and Moss is 3-7 with an XBH off Richards in small samples.
- Chris Iannetta is 13 for his last 33 with 4 HR
- Josh Donaldson is 8 for his last 18 with 2 HRs. Moss and Reddick have also been in the top-25 hottest hitters of the last week
