What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – LAA -117
Pitcher Grind Down
CHC – I’m a bit surprised to see that the Angels are favored in this one. Jeff Samardzija is a great young pitcher and the Cubs offense has been putting up a lot of runs lately. Samardzija has been giving up quite a few hits over his last 5 starts though which is a bit concerning. I still think he has value, but maybe Vegas is onto something. In Play
LAA – C.J. Wilson has been a very average pitcher on the road this season. He has posted a 4.64 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP. Not numbers that you would expect from Wilson. The Cubs do struggle against lefties, but they have been putting up some runs lately. I think he is in play, but I don’t love the pick. In Play
Batter Grind Down
CHC – Alfonso Soriano, wow is this guy on fire. He has 5 HR’s in his last 4 games. Not only that but he also has a double, two singles, and two stolen bases. Talk about a hot bat. He is in play again tonight against Wilson.
LAA – Albert Pujols hit a HR last night and has good numbers against Samardzija going 5/12 with 2 HR’s. I don’t love the Angels bats today though.

HOU vs R | HOU BvP | STL vs R | STL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – STL -260
Pitcher Grind Down
STL – Yesterday’s game went exactly how most people expected it to and I think we could see the same thing happen again tonight. Shelby Miller has been lights out at home with a 1.59 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP and gets to face the team that strikes out more than any other team. Target
HOU – It’s never fun to take a pitcher against the Cardinals, especially when that pitcher is this big of an underdog. Jordan Lyles = Avoid
Batter Grind Down
STL – Matt Carpenter is one of my favorite plays of the night. I think that if you can’t afford Cano, you have to roll with Carpenter at 2B. He is batting .336 against righties and .363 at home. Also like the value for David Freese, dirt cheap on a team that should score some runs.
HOU – You know the drill by now, just pretend they aren’t in the player pool.

LAD vs L | LAD BvP | ARI vs L | ARI BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – Pick ‘Em
Pitcher Grind Down
ARI – Tyler Skaggs provides some pretty good upside with his 8 K’s per 9 innings. But Skaggs isn’t a pitcher that you can count on. His last start he threw 8 shutout innings, but the two starts before that he allowed 5 earned runs in each. Plus, this Dodgers offense is hot so I’m staying away. Avoid
LAD – Hyun-Jin Ryu hasn’t had the same success that he was enjoying earlier in the year. His strike out numbers are way down and teams seem to be figuring him out. He is still a very good pitcher, but I don’t love the spot on the road against the D-Backs. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
ARI – Paul Goldschmidt has let me down two days in a row now. Time to pay off Goldy. We all know he crushes left hand pitching and in the small sample size he has against Ryu he is 3/6 with a double.
LAD – The Dodgers offense is cruising along right now and even though Skaggs will present a bit of a problem for the left hand bats, I think as a whole, the Dodgers should put up some runs again.

COL vs R | COL BvP | SDP vs L | SDP BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – SD -140
Pitcher Grind Down
SD – Andrew Cashner has been good at home all season long. He has posted a 2.38 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP and faces a Rockies team that let Eric Stults pitch a complete game against last night. You have to like Cashner in this one. Target
COL – Jorge De La Rosa is a decent pitcher, but the run support may not be there for him and he rarely lasts longer than 6 innings anyway. Plus the Padres are a good team batting against lefties. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
SD – Kyle Blanks is dirt cheap right now and is a great source of cheap power. Also like Everth Cabrera, he seems to steal a base anytime he gets on.
COL – Not a fan of the Rockies tonight, I think Cashner pitches well and there aren’t many fantasy points to be had by this offense.

BOS vs R | BOS BvP | SEA vs L | SEA BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – BOS -130
Pitcher Grind Down
SEA – Aaron Harang is a much better pitcher at home than he is on the road, but after Iwakuma got lit up against the Red Sox last night, no way I am touching Harangatang. Avoid
BOS – Felix Doubront could be in for a solid game if he can stay away from the walks. He is very affordable and hasn’t given up more than 2 earned runs in any of his last 4 starts. In Play
Batter Grind Down
SEA – The Mariners offense has been hot lately and Kendrys Morales and Kyle Seager have been leading the way. I think they both have decent value.
BOS – All Red Sox bats are in play tonight. Harang just isn’t a very good pitcher.
