Pitcher Grind Down
- Andy Pettitte – Pettitte has had moderate success vs. BAL this year with a 3.5 ERA (same as his road ERA). He’s been better of late but doesn’t strike out enough guys to be more than an SP2. Starter Rating: 4 out of 10
- Scott Feldman – A number of Yankees have great splits against Feldman and although he’s been really good in his past few starts, I can’t recommend him against a HR-happy NYY lineup. Starter Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Morse is 4-9 and Jones is 8-23 off Pettitte for BAL.
- Righties are hitting .315 off Pettitte this year so any Baltimore right hander should be in play. I especially like Hardy and Wieters for good value.
- Grandy is 6-17 with 3 HR off of Feldman. I love that play this evening.
- Jeter also has 2 HR off Feldman in 20 ABs.

LAA vs R | LAA BvP | TOR vs L | TOR BvP
Pitcher Grind Down
- C.J. Wilson – Wilson has been one of the few bright spots for LAA this year, and his K-rate on the road is almost 1 per inning pitched. He threw well in his only other game against Toronto and with the depleted lineup that the Jays are putting out, he’s an above average play today. Starter Rating: 7 out of 10
- R.A. Dickey – 5.21 ERA at home. Sorry but I just don’t think that Knuckleball can knuck in a dome. Avoid. Starter Rating: 2 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- I’m avoiding Toronto bats but Adam Lind and Edwin Encarnacion both have HRs off Wilson in 13 and 14 ABs respectively.
- Dickey is allowing a HR every 20 ABs to lefties and a .779 OPS against. Really like Hamilton tonight in that dome.
- Mike Trout came into Monday hitting .417 over the last 2 weeks and is absolutely worth paying up for tonight.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Ryan Dempster – Dempster is awful and the return of Buchholz last night probably means he’s heading towards the bullpen after this start or the next. The only solace is that this Rays team can’t hit the broad side of a barn, having scored just 22 runs in the last week. Starter Rating: 4 out of 10
- Alex Cobb – Cobb is a decent favorite at -134 but I still wouldn’t play him against an offense that came into Monday night hitting .341 over the last week. Starter Rating: 5 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Longo is 2-8 with a HR off Dempster but Johnson, Loney, Escobar and Joyce have all struggled in small-ish samples.
- Dempster has allowed righties to an .856 OPS with a whopping 16 HRs allowed in 285 ABs.
- Shane Victorino is 3-8 with 2 doubles against Cobb.
- Middlebrooks could be a great value if he’s still middle priced on your favorite site. He came into Monday hitting .480 with 4 HRs over the last week.
Washington vs. NY Mets

WSN vs R | WSN BvP | NYM vs R | NYM BvP
Pitcher Grind Down
- Dan Haren – Haren had golden opportunities in his last 2 starts vs. NYM and MIA and stunk up the joint. I’m done rolling the dice on him and you should be too. Starter Rating: 1 out of 10
- Zack Wheeler – Wheeler might be getting a little fatigued, having K’d just 6 hitters in his last 2 starts. He threw OK in a recent start vs. WAS and the O/U of 7.5 means Vegas expects this to be low scoring. He’s in play in GPPs. Starter Rating: 6 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Daniel Murphy is 4-12 with a HR off Haren.
- Haren’s OPS vs. righties is .831. It’s .754 against lefties. He’s been really bad and HR-prone.
- I really like Lucas Duda from the left side tonight against Haren as a “gut call”
- Denard Span is 4-6 off Wheeler, but all Nats have limited exposure to the young righty.
- Wilson Ramos is 7 for his last 22 with 3 HRs and had the biggest salary increase across all sites (on average) of any catcher from Tuesday to Wednesday.

ATL vs R | ATL BvP | MIA vs L | MIA BvP
Pitcher Grind Down
- Mike Minor – Don’t look now but the Marlins have the 10th best team batting average over the past week and have a few guys who can really hit lefties well. Minor has been up and down in 5 appearances against them, his most recent being last week when he went 7 IP with 6 Ks and 4 ER. I like the play, but don’t love it. Starter Rating: 7 out of 10
- Jose Fernandez – I’ve reached a point where I am willing to play Fernandez at most price points against any opponent. He’s been stellar at home, averaging 15.3 FPPG and with J-Upton getting injured on Tuesday night he may see a weaker Braves lineup. Starter Rating: 9 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Justin Ruggiano CRUSHES Minor, with 2 HR and 7 hits in 17 ABs against. Giancarlo is just 3-16 but all 3 of his hits have been HRs.
- Giancarlo is hot, boasting a 1.146 OPS over the last 7 days.
- Freeman has a HR in 3 ABs against Fernandez, but like I said above, I’m targeting Jose and avoiding ATL tonight.
