Arizona DFS: Week 1 Cardinals at Titans Picks at DraftKings & FanDuel
Cardinals fans are in for a treat. Not only is Week 1 of the NFL season finally here but Arizona will head to Tennessee to take on the Titans in what is expected to be one of the highest-scoring games of the week. The total opened at 51 points and has since moved to 52 points, giving it the third-highest betting total of the week, only behind Cleveland at Kansas City and Thursday’s game between Dallas and Tampa Bay that produced plenty of fireworks.
This article will take a closer look at a few of the top daily fantasy picks from this game as well as my favorite Titans prop bet. For more NFL betting tips, check out Meansy’s Cardinals vs. Titans betting preview.
Cardinals vs. Titans DraftKings & FanDuel Picks
Derrick Henry
Henry is an absolute beast and is coming off a massive season where he rushed for a career-high 2027 yards and 17 touchdowns. The big man averaged 23.6 carries per game last season and should be a shoo-in for 20+ touches in Week 1 against a Cardinals team that was below average against the run last year. Despite his strong outlook, Henry projects to be the lowest-owned high-priced running back of the week behind Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, and Alvin Kamara. Low ownership makes Henry an intriguing tournament option as he’s shown he’s more than capable of posting the highest running back score on any given week.
Kyler Murray
While both quarterbacks from this game are viable options, I slightly prefer Murray. Murray started out on fire last season before suffering a shoulder injury that limited him the rest of the year, averaging 31.38 DK points per game through the first nine games of the season. Murray showed a willingness to run more often last year and totaled 819 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Not only does Murray have plenty of rushing upside in this spot but it’s a favorable matchup for his arm as well, with Tennessee ranking 27th in EPA (expected points added) defending the pass in 2020.
Rondale Moore
In daily fantasy, you have a salary cap to work with which means you can’t just play a lineup full of all the big names like Derrick Henry, DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Brown, Julio Jones, and Kyler Murray. Enter second-round rookie Rondale Moore who costs just $3,000 on DraftKings and $4,900 on FanDuel. At the very least, Moore is expected to get into the mix in three-receiver sets and it’s likely Kliff Kingsbury will have a few designed plays for him. Moore played just 47 preseason snaps but had 11 opportunities to touch the ball, including eight targets and three carries. Moore makes for a stronger play on DraftKings where the salary cap is more restrictive.
Cardinals vs. Titans Prop Bet
Ryan Tannehill Over 251.5 Passing Yards
It’s always a bit scary to bet on a passing attack that has historically relied on efficiency over volume but the addition of Julio Jones combined with the matchup against a terrible Arizona secondary makes me think Tanny will get a few more opportunities than he has typically seen in prior seasons. Additionally, Arizona’s offense is strong enough to keep pressure on Tennessee to score and I don’t foresee a scenario where we end up watching the Titans milk the clock by riding Henry in the second half.
