Best Bears vs. Steelers Player Prop Bets for Monday Night Football

Week 9 concludes with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. In the NFL, sides and totals are a saturated market, meaning that they are often completely stripped of their value by the time kickoff draws near. Instead of forcing action on big markets, NFL bettors may find more value by perusing Bears vs. Steelers player props.

Let’s take a closer look at the matchups and my personal favorite prop bets for Justin Fields, Ben Roethlisberger, and Najee Harris ahead of Monday Night Football.

Bears vs. Steelers Player Props

Justin Fields u17.5 completions (-110)

Bettors should be shorting the market everywhere they can on Justin Fields this evening. Fields has completed more than 17 passes in a single game only twice in his rookie campaign—each of the last two weeks in double-digit losses. Prior to that, Fields had completed only 16, 12, 11, and 6 passes in his other starts—none of which came against elite defenses. Pittsburgh’s pass defense has not been outstanding in 2021, but they are better defending the air than they are defending the ground. The Steelers have allowed their opponents to average 4.2 yards-per-carry this season. Thus, Fields has an opportunity to make an impact with his legs in this one against a weak Pittsburgh linebacker unit. Expect this to be a somewhat tightly-contested affair tonight, which is likely to lead to quite a few rushing attempts for Chicago.

Justin Fields u182.5 passing yards (-110)

Miraculously, Justin Fields has only eclipsed this number twice as a starter this season—throwing for 209 yards against the hapless Detroit Lions and 184 yards in a 38-3 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In games that have remained somewhat competitive, Fields has totaled 175, 174, 111, 68, and 60 passing yards. Pittsburgh’s pass defense has been vulnerable this season to some of the better signal callers in the game. However, it is extremely unlikely that Fields manages to make much noise in this one. It may be uncomfortable to bet the under on such a low number in this spot, but there is nobody that will be more uncomfortable tonight than Fields, when he is in the pocket. The inexperienced quarterback has been tremendously overwhelmed in his time on the field this fall. Expect that to continue this evening.

Ben Roethlisberger u1.5 passing touchdowns (-125)

Roethlisberger has been one of the least effective starting quarterbacks in the NFL this season—ranking 25th in passing yards, 22nd in passing touchdowns, and 27th in QBR. Though the Bears have a beatable secondary unit, it is unlikely that Big Ben is going to explode for a vintage performance in this one. Only once in seven games this year has Roethlisberger thrown for multiple touchdowns in the same game. At near even-money, there is a clear side that bettors should be attacking on this line. Take the under here.

Najee Harris Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-150)

Najee Harris has found the end zone four weeks in a row for the Steelers. As the unquestioned leader of this backfield, he has seen at least 21 touches in five consecutive games, meaning that he will surely have numerous opportunities to break a big run, and he will absolutely be first in line to score if the Steelers find themselves on the goal line. The Bears have allowed eight rushing touchdowns this fall. Bettors should expect Harris to make that at least nine this evening on Monday Night Football.
