NBA Player Props – Hawks vs. Celtics, April 15, 2023
- Al Horford o5.5 rebounds
- Trae Young o8.5 assists
- Jaylen Brown more than 26.5 points
Al Horford o5.5 rebounds (-122), FanDuel
According to props.cash, Al Horford eclipsed this market number in 34 of his final 59 games played during the regular season. On Saturday, he will have a difficult matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, but there is still reason to believe that this number is too low for the veteran big man. Horford averaged 6.2 rebounds per game during the regular season and posted 9.3 rebounds per game in 23 postseason games last summer for the Celtics. He is a veteran presence that the organization trusts. Expect him to find a way to get to the over in this spot.
Trae Young o8.5 assists (-115), PointsBet
During the regular season, Trae Young finished second in the NBA, averaging 10.2 assists per game. Among players who played at least 57 games, nobody averaged more potential assists per game than Young. On his own team, Young was the clear primary facilitator, averaging 17.2 potential assists, with only Dejounte Murray averaging more than 4.8 potential assists as a second option. Boston does a good job limiting ball movement, which helped them rank fifth-best in opponent assists per game across the final month of regular season action. Still, Young is a big-game player who should have more than enough volume this afternoon to make up for any inefficiency caused by tough opponent defense. Take the over here.
NBA DFS Pick’em
Jaylen Brown more than 26.5 points, PrizePicks
This is a fairly priced line for Jaylen Brown, who had a near 50 percent hit-rate to this number during the regular season. However, we are more than willing to roll the dice in this spot, considering the fact that Brown is consistently competitive at this number. Entering play, Brown has scored at least 25 points in 21 of of his last 30 contests. In the playoffs, he will have a longer leash, particularly if the game script is competitive. He is a legitimate threat for 30 points in today’s series opener.
