NBA Player Props – Celtics vs. Hawks, April 27, 2023

Onyeka Okongwu o13.5 points + rebounds (-105), BetMGM

Onyeka Okongwu has only eclipsed this market number once during the first five games of this series. However, there is a reason that the market still has the number where it is at 13.5 ahead of tip-off on Thursday. Okongwu averaged 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per game during the regular season. In two games during this opening-round playoff series, Okongwu has found himself in foul trouble, which has limited his minutes, and thus, his production. In Game 5, he was able to stay out of foul trouble and was entrusted with 27 minutes in a winning effort while Clint Capela played only 21 minutes. This appears to be a situation in which Okongwu will get at least 25 minutes as long as he can defend without fouling. At nearly even money, this is worth a small stab for bettors.

Dejounte Murray u21.5 points (-105), DraftKings

Dejounte Murray has eclipsed this market number in each of the four games in which he has played during this series. In those four games, his volume has been substantial, attempting no fewer than 20 field goals in any individual contest. However, his absence in Game 5 – a game in which Atlanta emerged victorious – could slightly change tonight’s game plan. In the four games that Murray played, the Hawks won only once. In Game 5, John Collins was heavily involved – taking 18 shots. This number looks far too low on the surface, but there are reasons to believe that we see players other than Murray with a larger role for the Hawks in Game 6 with the season on the line.

NBA DFS Pick’em

Robert Williams more than 8.0 rebounds, PrizePicks

Robert Williams has secured at least eight rebounds in three of the first five games of this series. In Game 5, Williams III had only seven actual rebounds, but he once again led the Boston Celtics in rebound chances. In this opening round, Williams III is averaging 8.0 rebounds and 24.0 minutes of playing time. If he can stay out of foul trouble tonight, he will likely see closer to 30 minutes, which should give him a great chance to get to at least eight rebounds, if not more.
