NBA Player Props – Nets vs. 76ers, April 15, 2023
- Joel Embiid o33.5 points
- Dorian Finney-Smith o12.5 points + rebounds
- Spencer Dinwiddie more than 9.0 assists
Joel Embiid o33.5 points (-110), BetMGM
During the regular season, Joel Embiid led the NBA in scoring, averaging 33.1 points per game. On Saturday, he gets a favorable matchup with the Brooklyn Nets in Game 1. Since February 11, Brooklyn ranks 25th in opponent field goal attempts in the restricted area, 20th in opponent field goal attempts allowed in the paint, and 22nd in opponent field goal percentage in the mid-range. Embiid averaged 20.1 shot attempts per game this year, 17.1 of which came in the restricted area, paint, or mid-range. Expect Embiid to have plenty of volume from the floor this afternoon. If he can be moderately efficient or better with his opportunities, he should have little trouble threatening for 40 points in this spot.
Dorian Finney-Smith o12.5 points + rebounds (+100), PointsBet
Dorian Finney-Smith has established himself as one of the more important pieces for the Brooklyn Nets in the post Kevin Durant era. During the month of March, Finney-Smith averaged 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 26.9 minutes of action. In three games to begin April, Finney-Smith averaged 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 28.7 minutes of action. Perhaps most importantly, he has played in the postseason in each of the last three seasons, averaging 37.1 minutes per game for the Dallas Mavericks. In today’s series opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn will need a composed veteran presence on the floor. Do not be surprised if Finney-Smith gets slightly more playing time in this contest than he did during the regular season with the Nets. Take the over here.
NBA DFS Pick’em
Spencer Dinwiddie more than 9.0 assists, PrizePicks
Entering play, Spencer Dinwiddie has recorded at least nine assists in 12 of his last 15 contests. During that span, only Trae Young and Tyrese Haliburton averaged more potential assists per game. On his own team, Dinwiddie averaged nearly three times as many potential assists as the next-best player. Simply, Dinwiddie is this team’s facilitator, and there is not much competition for that role. This gives Dinwiddie an extremely high floor on Saturday against a Philadelphia team that was near league average in opponent assists per game across the last month of action during the regular season.
