On Monday, the Denver Nuggets have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers. After losing each of the first three contests in the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers will simply be looking to keep their season alive when they take the floor for Game 4. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
Despite being on the verge of a sweep, the market is showing little respect to Denver in this spot, pricing Los Angeles as 3-point favorites on the spread. The total is set at over/under 224 points.
We are 86-75-1 on player prop recommendations to begin these NBA Playoffs, including a perfect 9-0 in the Western Conference Finals. For those who would prefer to attack the player prop market rather than a side or total, we have three leans below for tonight’s action!

NBA Player Props – Nuggets vs. Lakers, May 22, 2023
- Jamal Murray u26.5 points
- Anthony Davis o13.5 rebounds
- LeBron James less than 20.5 field goal attempts
Jamal Murray u26.5 points (-106), FanDuel
Jamal Murray has hit the over on his point prop in each of the first three games of this series – scoring 31 points or more in each of those contests. However, he is due for at least some regression sooner rather than later. Across his last five games, dating back to the second round of the postseason, Murray is 21-for-44 from beyond the arc. Shooting nearly 50.0% from long range is an accomplishment for an individual game, let alone a stretch of action spanning nearly two weeks. During the regular season, Murray shot only 39.8% from three-point territory (which is still very good). Expect the Lakers to prioritize slowing down Murray in Game 4, forcing other members of the Nuggets offense to make shots. Take the under here.
Anthony Davis o13.5 rebounds (-118), FanDuel
We successfully targeted this prop in Game 2 and Game 3 and we are running it back again for Game 4. In Game 1, Anthony Davis had only 10 rebounds, but he led the Los Angeles Lakers in rebound chances, suggesting that he would see more boards if the Lakers could simply force more missed shots from their opponent. In Game 2, Davis had 14 rebounds and 26 rebound chances. In Game 3, Davis had 18 rebounds on 24 rebounds chances. According to props.cash, Davis has eclipsed this market number in six of his eight home games during these playoffs, with only one game of fewer than 13 boards. Expect him to continue dominating the glass this evening.
NBA DFS Pick’em
LeBron James less than 20.5 field goal attempts, PrizePicks
Of course we are running this back again. PrizePicks simply refuses to adjust this market number no matter how many times LeBron James fails to eclipse it. We have recommended this play in each of the first three games of this series – LeBron James has attempted 16, 19, and 19 field goal attempts, respectively. In the first round, we recommended this play six times against the Memphis Grizzlies – James attempted 20 field goals or less in five of those games. In the second round, we advised that this play was a good risk six times – James attempted 18 field goals or less four times. Going back even further, James has attempted 21 field goals or less in 17 of his last 21 playoff contests since the 2020-2021 campaign. Our only hope is that somehow the Lakers manage to extend this series so that this is not the last time we get to recommend this play.
