What kind of performances can we expect on Thursday from Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Devin Booker? Follow along as our NBA betting expert, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite NBA prop bets for tonight’s matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns.

On Thursday night, the Denver Nuggets (52-27) and Phoenix Suns (44-35) will meet at the Footprint Center. Entering play, Denver has realistically clinched the top-seed in the Western Conference playoff picture, with Phoenix likely ending up as the 4-seed when the postseason begins next Saturday.

Ahead of tip-off, the Nuggets have already ruled out Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. As a result, the Suns are favored by 12 points on the spread. Though motivations are tricky to decipher ahead of this contest, there is still value to be found on the player prop market for this matchup if looking for some late night action.

NBA Player Props, April 6, 2023

Kevin Durant u4.5 assists (-154), FanDuel

In seven games since joining the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant has eclipsed this market number only twice – with six assists against the Chicago Bulls and five assists against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tonight, there is a real chance that we see Durant’s minutes capped around 30 due to the fact that the Denver Nuggets are not playing the vast majority of their key players. Even with a full workload, Durant has been consistently going under this number with his new team. Expect him to finish with four assists or fewer again on Thursday.

Chris Paul under 9.5 assists (-122), FanDuel

Editor’s Note: Line moved to 8.5 assists after posting, which is playable at that number
Alternate line of u9.5 assists still available on FanDuel as well

According to props.cash, Chris Paul has eclipsed this market number only 26 times in 58 games this season. He has a similar hit-rate in home games, only hitting the over in 11 of 29 games played at the Footprint Center. As the regular season draws near its conclusion, playoff teams are likely to start monitoring the workload of their players more closely, especially if they find themselves in a blowout game script. Of the last 17 guars to have an assist prop released against the Denver Nuggets, only seven players have hit the over. The smart lean is to the under in this spot at such a high number.

Devin Booker less than 5.0 assists, PrizePicks

In 52 games played this year, Devin Booker has only had more than five assists 22 times. Dating back to last season, Booker has recorded six or more assists in only 33 of his last 105 games played with Chris Paul on the floor. Entering play, Booker has five assists or fewer in eight of his last ten trips to the hardwood. In a matchup that could quickly turn into a blowout, taking less than five assists is the smart way to approach this play on PrizePicks.
