NBA Player Props – Heat vs. Celtics, May 29, 2023

Jayson Tatum u31.5 points (-115), PointsBet

In the first six games of this series, Jayson Tatum has eclipsed this market number only once. Tonight, the defensive intensity is likely to be the highest that it has been at any point during the Eastern Conference Finals, meaning that there could be fewer total possessions and fewer open looks compared to the last two weeks. Tatum has relied extensively on getting to the free throw line to put up gaudy statistics in this series. If Miami can play defense without fouling tonight, this could be an easy under.

Jaylen Brown u24.5 points (-112), FanDuel

Simply, Jaylen Brown has not been very aggressive on the offensive end of the floor in this series. In the opening round of these playoffs, Brown averaged 20.3 field goal attempts per game. In each of the last two rounds, however, he has been much more passive, with far fewer shot attempts on a nightly basis. As a result, he is averaging only 19.0 points per game during the Eastern Conference Finals. Open looks do not create themselves at this point in the season. Expect Brown to go under this market number once again on Monday.

NBA DFS Pick’em

Derrick White less than 14.0 points, PrizePicks

Derrick White was the hero in Game 6, tipping in the game-winning shot as time expired to force a Game 7. Still, he finished with only 11 points. In six games during this series, White has scored less than 14 points four times, despite shooting 53.8% from the field and 55.3% from beyond the arc. Tonight, we could see the lowest-scoring affair of the series to date, with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line for both teams. Expect White to see some negative regression in his shooting numbers, which will keep his offensive output low in this spot.
