NBA Player Props – Heat vs. Knicks, May 2, 2023
- Mitchell Robinson u10.5 rebounds
- Josh Hart u8.5 rebounds
- RJ Barrett less than 5.5 rebounds
Mitchell Robinson u10.5 rebounds (+105), BetMGM
In the series opener against the Miami Heat, Mitchell Robinson had 14 rebounds, which seems to be a good sign for the over in this spot. However, he had only 18 rebound chances in that contest – relying on an unsustainably-high conversion rate of opportunity to achieve such a tall number in Game 1. The Heat are not an outstanding team on the glass, but they do a good job slowing down the pace, which leads to fewer overall rebound chances on a game-to-game basis. At plus money, the under is worth a look here.
Josh Hart u8.5 rebounds (-140), DraftKings
Josh Hart tied for the team league in rebound chances in Game 1 of this series, but still only managed eight actual rebounds in a losing effort. According to props.cash, Hart has only eclipsed this market twice in New York’s first six postseason contests – making this a tough spot to justify an over. Miami has also done a good job keeping opposing forwards off of the glass of late, with seven of the last 10 forwards going under their market number for rebounds against the Heat. Even with an abnormally-high number of rebound chances in Game 1, Hart went under this number. Expect some regression to the mean in terms of opportunity in Game 2, which should lead to another under.
NBA DFS Pick’em
RJ Barrett less than 5.5 rebounds, PrizePicks
Similar to his teammate, Josh Hart, RJ Barrett has rarely eclipsed this market number of late – only twice in six postseason contests, to be exact. Overall, Barrett has only recorded six rebounds or more in 32 of 79 games played this year, which is barely a 40.0% hit rate. According to props.cash, seven of the last ten forwards to have a rebound prop released against the Miami Heat have recorded less than the default number. Looking at this from a probability standpoint, it is more likely than not that Barrett ends today’s game with less than six rebounds.
