Best NBA Player Prop Bets for Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets - Game 2, April 19
What kind of performances can we expect on Wednesday from Karl-Anthony Towns, Michael Porter Jr., and Nikola Jokic? Follow along as our NBA betting expert, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite NBA prop bets for April 19 on the hardwood.
The Denver Nuggets won Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in convincing fashion – coming away with a 109-80 victory in a game that was over before the end of the third quarter. Ahead of tip-off in Game 2, Nikola Jokic is listed as questionable with a right wrist sprain, but it would be shocking if he did not take the floor. Rudy Gobert is listed as questionable for the Timberwolves with back spasms.
On Wednesday night, the Nuggets are 8.5-point favorites on the spread and the total is set at over/under 222 points.
For those who would prefer to attack the player prop market rather than a side or total, we have three leans below for tonight’s action!

NBA Player Props – Lakers vs. Grizzlies, April 19, 2023
- Karl-Anthony Towns o8.5 rebounds
- Michael Porter Jr. o5.5 rebounds
- Nikola Jokic more than 12.0 rebounds
Karl-Anthony Towns o8.5 rebounds (+106), FanDuel
In Game 1, Karl-Anthony Towns secured 10 rebounds in only 30 minutes of action. Tonight, it is possible that he sees even more rebound chances if the Minnesota Timberwolves reduce the workload of Rudy Gobert in this contest. In the series opener, Gobert was -28 net differential in 26 minutes of action. If Minnesota is serious about making this series competitive, they are likely to need to pull him off of the floor more frequently. Towns led the Timberwolves with 18 rebound chances this past Sunday. Expect another strong performance from him on the glass in this spot – take the over.
Michael Porter Jr. o5.5 rebounds (-132), FanDuel
According to props.cash, Michael Porter Jr. has only eclipsed this market number in 16 of 32 home games this season. However, he had 14 rebound chances and 11 rebound chances in Game 1 in only 31 minutes of action. The Timberwolves have struggled to keep opposing forwards off of the glass this season and could have even more trouble doing so in Game 2 if they are forced to resort to a small lineup with Rudy Gobert seeing more time on the bench. If Porter has even 10 rebound chances on Wednesday, he is likely to be competitive at this market number. Trust him to get the job done.
NBA DFS Pick’em
Nikola Jokic more than 12.0 rebounds, PrizePicks
In Game 1, Nikola Jokic had 14 rebounds in only 28 minutes of playing time. On April 9, the Minnesota Timberwolves allowed Jonas Valanciunas to collect 18 rebounds. Simply, the Timberwolves are not a great rebounding team and their poor shooting efficiency creates even more rebound chances for their opponents when the Timberwolves are playing on the road. In the series opener, Minnesota shot only 37.0% from the field and 30.6% from beyond the arc. If the Timberwolves hover around 40.0% from the floor again tonight, Jokic should have little trouble pushing for a dozen rebounds in this spot.
