On Saturday, the opening round of the NBA postseason will begin with a four-game slate. The evening action will get started with a matchup between the New York Knicks (47-35) and Cleveland Cavaliers (51-31). Julius Randle was initially deemed unlikely to suit up, but now appears to be trending towards playing in the series opener. Isaac Okoro is listed as questionable for Cleveland.

The Cavaliers are favored by five points on the spread and the total is set at over/under 217 points.

For those who would prefer to attack the player prop market rather than a side or total, we have three leans below for tonight’s action!

NBA Player Props – Knicks vs. Cavaliers, April 15, 2023

Julius Randle o7.5 rebounds (-115), FanDuel

During the regular season, the New York Knicks out-rebounded the Cleveland Cavaliers in all four meetings. Randle played in three of those contests, eclipsing this market number each time he took the floor. Randle’s health is certainly a concern, considering that he was not cleared for contact as recently as this week. However, it is doubtful that New York would be sending him into battle in Game 1 if his left ankle was still a major issue. Combining the adrenaline of a playoff opener with the fact that Randle has dominated the Cavaliers on the board this season – he has a great opportunity to get to the over in this spot.

Donovan Mitchell o3.5 three-pointers made (-140), DraftKings

In four games played against the New York Knicks during the regular season, Donovan Mitchell made eight, two, six, and six three-pointers, respectively. Across the final month of action, New York ranked 30th in opponent three-point percentage, with their perimeter defense continuing to be a major concern defensively. Though the Knicks are led by the defensive-minded head coach Tom Thibodeau, this group was far more intimidating on the offensive end of the floor than they were on the defensive end of the floor this season. Expect that to continue in the postseason. Mitchell should be healthy and rested ahead of this matchup. There are no excuses for him to fall short of this market number on Saturday.

NBA DFS Pick’em

R.J. Barrett more than 4.5 rebounds, PrizePicks

Similar to the rest of his New York teammates, R.J. Barrett had success on the glass against Cleveland during the regular season – recording at least four rebounds in each contest and at least five rebounds in three of those games. On Saturday, Julius Randle is likely playing at less than 100 percent health, which may necessitate Barrett being even more involved on the glass. This is a series in which the Knicks are likely to have tremendous success on the boards. Trust Barrett to find enough rebounds to make this investment worthwhile on Saturday.
