NBA Player Props – Thunder vs. Pelicans, April 12, 2023

Jalen Williams o15.5 points (-105), DraftKings

In his final 26 regular season games, Jalen Williams eclipsed this market number 16 times, with two games of exactly 15 points in that span. During the month of March, Williams averaged 19.8 points on 13.1 shot attempts per contest – shooting an efficient 56.6% from the floor and 46.3% from beyond the arc. The New Orleans Pelicans have struggled to defend opposing forwards in recent weeks, notably allowing 25 points to Dillon Brooks, 40 points to Jaren Jackson Jr., and 40 points to Kawhi Leonard in the month of April alone. Expect Williams to face little resistance in this spot, which should afford him plenty of opportunity to hit the over here.

Trey Murphy o3.5 rebounds (-120), DraftKings

According to props.cash, Trey Murphy was 19 for 39 to the over at this market number when playing at home this season. His opponent this evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder, have allowed an abundance of rebounds to opposing guards in recent weeks – notably, allowing seven rebounds to Kris Dunn, five rebounds to Stephen Curry, six rebounds to Donte DiVincenzo, and five rebounds to Devin Booker in recent weeks. Murphy played at least 36 minutes in each of New Orleans’ final seven games of the regular season. He is clearly a fixture of what the team is trying to do on a nightly basis. Trust him to get to the over in this spot.

NBA DFS Pick’em

Josh Giddey more than 6.0 assists, PrizePicks

In February, Josh Giddey averaged 6.1 assists per game. In March, he averaged 7.3 assists. In three games during April, Giddey has posted eight assists, five assists, and eight assists, respectively. Tonight, he gets a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, which ranked 12th in opponent assists per game across the final 30 days of the regular season. Per props.cash, nine of the last 14 guards to have an assists prop released against the Pelicans have gone over that market number. Expect Giddey to have high volume in the assist department again on Wednesday in a must-win game.
