NBA Player Props -76ers vs. Celtics, May 3, 2023
- Tobias Harris u15.5 points
- Jaylen Brown o33.5 points + rebounds + assists
- Joel Embiid more than 25.0 points
Tobias Harris u15.5 points (-114), FanDuel
In Game 1, we cashed took Tobias Harris to score over 16.5 points, but we are going in the opposite direction for Game 2. According to props.cash, Tobias Harris has eclipsed this market number in only 10 of his last 29 games played with Joel Embiid in uniform. Harris found success on the offensive end of the floor in Philadelphia’s opening-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, but the Boston Celtics are much more skilled defensively and have been tougher on forwards in particular throughout the season. Take the under in this spot.
Jaylen Brown o33.5 points + rebounds + assists (-120), BetMGM
Somehow, we ended up getting hooked on this exact play in Game 1 of this series, despite the fact that Jaylen Brown attempted only 10 shots from the field – his fewest field goal attempts in any game this season in which he has played at least 20 minutes. Following a slow start to the postseason, Brown was dominant to close out the Atlanta Hawks – scoring no fewer than 31 points in each of the final three contests in that series. From a betting perspective, Brown’s impressive volume, at least 22 field goal attempts and playing at least 38 minutes in each of those games, proved that he has a safe floor on a night-to-night basis. Brown was active on the glass and as a facilitator once again in Game 1, even though he took only 10 shots. If he is more aggressive on the offensive end of the floor tonight, he could hit the over here with ease.
NBA DFS Pick’em
Joel Embiid more than 24.5 points, PrizePicks
Joel Embiid is unlikely to play his usual allotment of minutes in this contest, but this is still a very low market number for him in a playoff game. According to props.cash, Embiid has eclipsed this market number in 60 of 69 games played so far this season, including seven of 10 games in which he has played 30 minutes or fewer. The Boston Celtics do not have anyone to matchup with Embiid near the basket, which is why Embiid dominated the Celtics in each of his meetings against them earlier in the year. Expect the league MVP to be dominant tonight, even with a reduced workload.
