NBA Player Props – 76ers vs. Celtics, May 9, 2023

Jaylen Brown o24.5 points (-105), BetMGM

Following Game 4, Jaylen Brown commented to the media, “I guess I got to demand the ball a little bit more.” If Brown sees any increase in volume tonight, relative to the rest of the series, he should be able to clear this market number easily. In the first four contests against the Philadelphia 76ers, Brown has scored 23 points, 25 points, 23 points, and 23 points, respectively. He is shooting an efficient 57.4% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc in the second round. During the regular season, Brown averaged 26.6 points per game – this is a very palatable number for bettors.

Joel Embiid u29.5 points (-120), PointsBet

In two games on his home floor, Joel Embiid scored 30 points and 34 points, respectively. However, it remains to be seen how he performs traveling back to the TD Garden, where he had only 15 points in 27 minutes during Game 2. In the opening round against the Brooklyn Nets, Embiid had only 14 points in 38 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets in Game 3 on the road. Embiid is certainly capable of dominating any game that he desires. Still, his recent struggles on the road are a pause for concern in this spot, especially when factoring in that he is playing at less than 100% health.

James Harden less than 8.0 assists, PrizePicks

In four games in this series, James Harden has eclipsed this market number twice – both times at home. In two road contests, Harden had six assists and four assists, respectively. Simply, assists are more difficult when trusting role players to knock down shots in a hostile environment on the road. Expect Harden to be more aggressive himself on the offensive end of the floor tonight, looking to score the basketball instead of relying extensively on his teammates for production.
