NBA Player Props – 76ers vs. Celtics, May 14, 2023

Malcolm Brogdon o14.5 points (-120), PointsBet

In six games against the Atlanta Hawks in the opening round of these playoffs, Malcolm Brogdon scored at least 14 points five times – proving that he is competitive at this market number. In six games to begin the second round, Brogdon has scored at least 15 points five times, with his lone miss being a game in which he was simply an inefficient 3-for-9 from the field. On Thursday night, Brogdon returned to form, scoring 16 points and playing 30 minutes. The shooting volume and playing time has consistently been there for Brogdon during the postseason. Trust him to knock down enough shots for the over to hit in this spot.

Joel Embiid o10.5 rebounds (-128), FanDuel

In Game 2, Joel Embiid returned to the court after being held out of Game 1 due to injury. It was clear that Embiid was not at 100 percent, scoring only 15 points and collecting only three rebounds. He has looked much better across the last four games, averaging 30.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per contest. More importantly, Embiid has proven that he can handle a heavy workload, playing as many as 46 minutes in a game during that span. This afternoon is a legacy-defining game for Embiid – expect him to show up in a big way. Take the over on his rebounds here against an undersized Boston frontcourt.

NBA DFS Pick’em

James Harden less than 36.5 points + rebounds + assists, PrizePicks

Simply, James Harden has not been aggressive enough or efficient enough from the field during this series to warrant this market number being so high on Sunday afternoon. Outside of two explosive performances in Game 1 and Game 4, Harden has not scored more than 17 points or attempted more than 16 shots from the field. Overall, he is shooting a pedestrian 43.8% from the floor through the first six games of this second round matchup against the Celtics. In Game 7, the pace will likely slow down and the defensive effort will intensify. It is more likely that we see Harden struggle today than it is that we see him explode for 40-plus points.
